Well I suppose that is the crux of it.

Is it better to build a nation of patriots or a nation of momins?

Why not? You see, a true momin will be the most humane of people you would encounter. A nation full of these gems is enough to make it flourish and more. However, they cannot be 'built' at the national level.
I detect attempted sarcasm and/or insult of sorts here. What do you think Islam is?
To think we'd come to this point - yom-e qiyamat is coming fast, huh?

The basic premise was that Muslims cannot live along with Hindus of the sub continent and thus the Muslims wanted their own separate country, though both got defeated when 1) Indian Muslims refused to go to Pakistan and 2) when Bangladesh separated from Pakistan (Muslims of the sub continent cannot co exist based on the only premise of religion).

If I am not wrong, Zia / Bhutto came up with Pakistan's new constitution of it being an Islamic state ruled by Islamic law. This premise gets defeated too when Pakistan removes the Islamic tag...what we have in the end is a state that is confused about what it wants to be.

I'ts for Pakistani's to decide which way they want to go - i don't see any confusion, it is simply change.

I don't think the original premise is defeated either way. They wanted a separate land for Muslims and they got it - it's more Muslim today than ever before. Jinnah never said it was to be an 'Islamic Republic'.

Patriots mean different thing to different people. Blair is also a patriot to many britons. And who is asking people like u for answers? Aren't u happy in your nation of "patriots" i.e UK?

What's your point? The meaning of the word patriot is not complicated - it's you who seems confused.

I only wish there had been more national and political leaders, both Moslem and non-Moslem, like Mohammed Ali Jinnah in post-war Asia and elsewhere. It is a great pity for Pakistan, and for the subcontinent as a region, that he died so early in Pakistan's post-imperial, independent history, from that damned tuberculosis that he had kept secret all those years. Jinnah would have set Pakistan firmly on the course of a modern Moslem state, a homeland and a haven for the Indian subcontinent's Moslem populace. Now that was and is a vision worth striving for!

Leave it to the majority. And majority doesnt allow it to happen. Move a bill in the parliament and than see what happens.

I don't generalize whole races of people, I don't glorify cold blooded murderers like Mumtaz Qadri, I am not against any kind education, I don't hero-worship anyone who wears a beard and keeps women veiled, I think women are equal to men, I don't watch bestiality **** on internet (because they think it is better than watching *HARAM* WOMEN *HARAM*), I don't create my own theories on Jihadist groups, I don't blame much better-off westerns thousands of miles away, I don't violently watchdog my beliefs, among many things. Me and my ideology can have its flaws, but I think my ideology may be better because it agrees with the doctrine of Universal Human Rights accepted by the entire world. I didn't called any specific people silly, stupid, regressive. I merely stated the evidenced facts (and the facts point them out to be stupid and hypocritical perverts), something that millions of know-it-all conspiracy theorists around Pakistan fail to even understand. I am speaking from experience. If you are settled in Australia, I don't think you can understand.
Keep your ideas to yourself. Or contest election, gain two third majority and do what you like.

I can safely establish that cyber ranting is certainly one of your token skills.
Other than the last sentence, the rest of his post is very pertinent to Pakistani society today. What is wrong with a rant, if by that one means to speak in an impassioned manner?

Which one of the ideas mentioned in his post do you not agree with?

Isn't it ridiculous how people in Pakistan want women to "cover" themselves up, yet Google confirms the most number of pornographic searches are from Pakistan.
That bit is not unique to Pakistan, although Pakistan might be the most glaring example. In general, the more segregated a society is in male-female interaction, the more its members seek outlet in pornography and other such means of outlet.

Maybe it is time to abandon our status as the "Islamic" "Republic" of Pakistan, and return to our secular roots which were planned by the fathers of the nation
There are no "our" secular roots. May be only yours. Pakistan was islamic republic, is islamic republic and will be,
till the end of days.
Thus Pakistan was created so that the Muslims and Hindus can live in peace alone. Pakistan was created because the Muslim League felt the new "Hindus"tan would not be secular enough, not because it wouldn't be "Islamic" enough. Do we want to end up like the Middle East?
So in your opinion all problems are due to islamic country. Rubbish
Also, it is embarrassing how many people believe in ridiculously stupid Jewish conspiracy theories, and hate Jews so much without having ever having seen one in their entire lives. Can a mature, mentally healthy human being actually believe such far fetched stories? Is this the result of one or two generations of cousin-cousin breeding? The reality is every year hundreds, if not thousands of non-Muslims are persecuted and harassed all along the country, but our sympathies are only for Palestine and non-existent dead Muslims in Burma and India. Isn't it ridiculous how people in Pakistan want women to "cover" themselves up, yet Google confirms the most number of pornographic searches are from Pakistan. Google also confirms that South Asia ranks the highest in bestiality searches.
It’s up to people what they like and what they want not up to you.

Not a single one

Then the future looks bleak
Than leave pakistan.

B:Good thing Pakistan has a clean state with only the genocide of a few million Bengalis.
Any proof of this genocide or its just a mere BS.
But please, go ahead and pick up decades, if not centuries, old wars that had been beaten to death by anti-westerners like you.
We are anti westerners not anti islam or anti pakistan.

Ah, really? So just to clarify:

1) You don't agree with equality for women.
2) You like watching beastiality p0rn.
3) You don't believe in universal human rights.
4) You prefer to believe ridiculous conspiracy theories.
5) You worship anybody who has a beard.

Is that right? Because the poster you responded to was saying he was against all this. You disagree with him?

Than leave pakistan.
Much more nobler to stay there and try to make the future less bleak, don't you think?

Doesnt mean his every word or line. But his conclusions, ideas

That's why I asked specifically which ideas of his you disagree with in that post of his. I'd still like to know if you do actually disagree with anything he said, or you are simply feeling the need to express disagreement because he talked about secularism. For a moment, forget labels and branding, try to figure out which ideas you have a problem with.

No need to abandon our status as Islamic republic. It won’t help either but problems will increase as majority of our population is not in favor of such ideas. If you like this to happen than wins the two third majority and change the constitution in which way you like.

Much more nobler to stay there and try to make the future less bleak, don't you think?
Who is noble?
