Lt Gen Panag to advise AAP on strategic affairs - Hindustan Times
The latest to join the bandwagon of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is Lt Gen HS Panag (retd), the father of actress Gul Panag.
The 65-year-old said, "I joined the party about three weeks ago, but the announcement was made on Wednesday. I am just an ordinary member. I joined the party as it is different, sincere and honest. It is also emerging," adding that he would advise the party on strategic affairs and national security.
On contesting elections, he said, "The party asked me to contest elections but I told them that I do not have any such inclination. Also, I don't have any mass following. But, I will surely campaign for them."
Panag was commissioned in December 1968 and retired after 40 years of military service in December, 2008. He served as an army commander of Northern and Central Commands and had recently retired from the Chandigarh bench of the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT).
