What's new

AAP is winning around 67 seats in Delhi

Blind kejiriwal maniac bhakt is also in full throttle. You can.see their effectivness within few weeks.Until then Good luck

Next is Punjab. Enough said. If all the power of Modi, 140 BJP MPs and unlimited money spent on Delhi didn't stop BJP from a complete whitewash, you can expect something similary in the other states too. This is not just an election loss, this is a fate far worse than what even the congress saw in 2013.

Buddy, the vote share of AAP was almost 70% then. 'entire share of congress went to BJP, muslims voted for BJP, minorities and sickulars voted for BJP'- an endless list of excuses. The fact is that most people did not vote for BJP and most people exclusively voted for AAP. Modi, money & bedi couldn't even give a half respectable performance and an unprecedented wipeout (remember YY predicted only 55+), you suggesting nothing is fundamentally wrong with them?

Same boasting was heard during by elections.Proved that were wrong.
But this is one election that Kejiriwal won by free water and Free electricity.
And your Congress ended up in Zero.
So.much for that Italian lady.

I'm hardly offering up excuses, I'm not a BJP or Congress or AAP fan. I'm also not suggesting that nothing is wrong for the Delhi BJP, you lose an election - you have a problem; you face this kind of a wipeout -you have a disaster on your hands. My point was more simple - I believe that the BJP has a core voter support of around 20% in Delhi, I believe the congress had a higher core voter percentage of about 25%, the rest was what the fight was for. With the appearance of AAP, things became blurry with boundaries of both the BJP & Congress being eaten into by AAP but the Congress was hurt more. I believe what this election has shown is a complete marginalisation of the Congress with the erstwhile Congress voters plumping solidly for AAP because they didn't see the Congress as viable. With the swing voters too plumping solidly for AAP, this result was made possible.

Btw, there was an article in the economic times where senior congress leaders were saying that they were praying that the BJP did well because the AAP & Congress shared the same support base. They thought that if the AAP won & governed for 5 years, they would be completely wiped out as a force in Delhi. Likewise the BJP was hoping that Congress would do well because of the same reason.

My take was just my reading of the election, not based on any political preferences.

Both are left of centre, obviously too complex a logic for you to understand.

So are the communists, the question is how far left keeps you still in the centre & not in the extreme.

Commies are definitely left of left. And BJP is definitely right of right. I think either they have to adapt a more centre to left/ right position (like New Labor) or will eventually wiped out. I think clarifications AK gave that he is only against crony capitalism and not capitalism seems to indicate he is centre of left. Plus, his own policies when he was CM before (promoting ease of business for the tradesmen etc.) seem to indicate that too.

In general I was a more aggressive capitalist before but I think it's now clear that the kind of capitalism that the conservatives in the US promoted is definitely proved wrong. The fact is that it is the Nordics/ Scandinavians who are the most well off people in quality of life than the US. You may not want to go that far in terms of what the government role has to be but what Obamacare etc. show is that even the US has seen the benefits of increasing the government role in some places.

That's certainly not borne up by facts, the BJP is just a little right of the centre, not even right enough to be called a real party of the right, what with all the swadeshi bits & a continued support of most subsidies.

I think he is far left, anti big business etc. That was the area the previous government stepped into and they are nowhere as left as AAP

In general, I think that looking at policies of certain European countries & even the U.S. and connecting it to India is unworkable because they have reached a different stage of development before they took that route of sharing the pie. We need to grow the pie sufficiently to be able to share it to any real effect. The previous UPA government lost sight of that fact and ended up spending more as the economy was slowing down and creating a fiscal disaster that we are only getting out because of a once in a life time lucky break of the oil price drop. We are nowhere practicing the right wing politics of the US conservatives, we are pretty much wobbling only around the centre.

Oh you wouldn't need to tell us that - but BJP is clan of terrorists. They are Indian version of MQM. Any other Indian party would be more rational and less Mad.

& you are grossly ill informed about our Political parties

what investors???? u didnt knew???? 67,000 industrial units closed in Punjab in last few years................and no new coming in....................punjab is broke...................even NRI punjab are not even coming to Punjab for vacations .......due miscerable condition of Punjab ............drugis all around..................no law and order................Badal taking over all bussiness

the main reason for Bhakts being blind has to do with fear of muslims...........nothing else............they think ....modi will kill all Muslims from India..........xD Truth hurts.

Abee Delhi kii baat ho rahi hai gadhee Punjab ki nahi

.
But I expected this when the polling touched the record .Entire Congress votes went to the AAP camp.Addiyionally dissents within the BJP party also voted for AAP.

Let's hope (and pray) that AAP can go beyond the politics of populism.

And let's see if AAP can remain clean, if they can, then it will be an achievement on its own. Otherwise they will be just another political party.

I am not an Indian, may not have a deep knowledge about Indian politics true - but I have seen Modi long enough to know what he is. I have witnessed his terrorism in Gujrat and years long Muslim enmity. He recently demonstrated his vicious face again when he tried to indulge Pakistan into terrorism incident by blowing wine-smuggling boats. The devil went on and started skirmishes at Kashmir border to distract successful operations against terrorism in Pakistan. Since borders have now calm down, does that mean ISI has stopped infiltrating which Modi's stupid government claimed goes on around the clock? I don't need to be a political insider to find who is beast and inhuman at heart.

But on a side note, I have just seen AAP and I honestly find Arvind Kijarwal a true person. He may be an as Indian as you are and may not have any soft corners towards Pakistan but still he is what he is - a simple, honest and true person. And I do not need to be an Indian or a political insider to discover if a person is demonstrating good characteristics.

BJP is not right of centre man. Right of centre is US conservatives and UK conservatives under David Cameroon. That is not a 'Ghar Wapsi' type party- there is a hell of a lot of a differnence between neocon and BJP- BJP/ RSS is ultra right.
AK has stated and acted as centre of left in the past, we need need to wait and watch. Far left is explicit allegiance to Marx/ formation of Politbureau and collectivization/ nationalization- not one AAP leader has ever said of these. You're claiming that calls for subsidy on water and electricity is 'far left'? That's just weird. I'm form mallu-land and I know what far left is, this is chicken shit in front of that. Even the erstwhile resident Marxist scholar turned BJP supporter @Marxist does not claim AK to be ultra left.
I think fallacy not to compare with western economies- these are fundamental economic questions and need comparison. You think China doesn't compare it's economic models with others? How do you think they set their policy?

.

I wouldn't waste 15 minutes of my time on an Indian politician but after watching Arvind's interview, I am glad I did. Not just India, Pakistan also needs an honest person like him.
