Aadvanshi Veer Sena to protest against WWE tour; demands apology for insulting Indian flag

New Delhi, Jan 15:World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will arrive in Indian for the first time on Friday. While the fans are enthralled to watch their favorite heroes in reality for the first time, the Indian political scenario does not seem to be excited. A Hindu group, Aadvanshi Veer Sena has claimed to protest against their arrival in India.
Referring to a 1998 video, the group said that they the wrestlers have in the past insulted the Indian flag and must apologize for the same. They also posted a compilation of videos which shows the wrestlers kicking and pulling down flags of different countries including Brazil and Russia. Kurt angle, retired wrestler is also seen humiliating flags. The video also shows one of the wrestler sneezing into Indian flags and then throwing it down. While they apologized for showing dow upon countries of other flags, the video claims that they did not apologize to Indians. Aadvanshi Veer Sena has threatened to protest against their tour unless they apologize.
However, WWE will come to India despite the protest. WWE is delighted to come to India to bring its fans energetic, larger-than-life, live entertainment. Fans can expect to see the same non-stop action and family fun that they know and love from watching WWE programming, including WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown on Ten Sports Network,” WWE President, International, Gerrit Meier had stated when the tour of India was announced back in 2015.
