A young Pakistani woman reveals her country's love affair with Bollywood

Similarity, what similarity with all due respect folks from Gangadesh are very different than us, sure their are some folk in areas that are adjacent to Pakistan that are similar to Pakistanis, but the rest of them are very different typical example being you, I presume you are a southern Indian, we folks have no and do not wish to have any links with you folks as you folks have consistently tried to do damage to Pakistan ever since it came into being.

No one I know loves Bollywood, folks find their stories pathetic and actresses and actors very unappealing!
It is great that now it is clearly happening that Pakistanis are moving away from indian content and my indian friends in USA used to get in a state of shock and disbelief whenever I told them I don't watch indian movies...none in my extended family or friends circle is a fan either (they don't watch indian movies..may be a few of them might have watched once or twice in their lives but that's it. I haven't watch a single complete indian movie though I can't deny about watching a few clips shared by my friends on social media, however that is not case with indian singers/music, I have listened to some of them and they were good). I used to tell them that if you are talking about any indian movie or actor...I may not be able to participate in the conversation since I neither have knowledge nor interest..and their reaction used to really incredible hilarious for me.

But now it is pretty evident people of Pakistan want to watch non-indian stuff. Our values are cultures are entirely different.
In pre-partition india on train stations, Hindu and Muslim water used to sold. They worship cow and we eat it. Our national language Urdu and it has more Arabic, Turkish and Persian words than Hindi, our names are different, our values and culture are different. We can live only separately but we wish to live peacefully, however, our wish has always been seen as sign of weakness and always got disrespected whether it was 1971 or recent wave of RAW sponsored terrorism and their overt opposition of CPEC and Pakistan's economic survival are evidences of their intrinsic hatred of Pakistan and Islam.
What do you say guys @Doordie @Mentee @tps77 @SherDil @Djinn

ROFL Troll just received $25 from BJP media cell for the point scored , hehehe. Problem is @ito @Margarita have been repeating the same crap for last many days without any benefit. I'd suggested that indian propagandists for their psyops who come on Pak forums should be banned, mods said these jokers are too crap for that. @patman has vindicated that case.
:laughcry:what propaganda? you do realize only 43% of India speaks hindi right? nearly each state has its own unique language and its own film industry. Bollywood has more influence on Pakistanis than 60% of India.

Not sure If you have comprehension issues but can you point out where I wrote Kora Kagaaz is from my era?

I love your mature polite avatar.

Yeh maine kaha? "Well, Bollywood used to make very good films from our era. My favourite Indian film was Kora Kagaz" ???

How does it make Indians feel that Pakistanis also like and watch bollywood movies?

Absolutely yaar, todays youth are looking upto Pakistani stars like patriot Shaan Shahid and not Salman Khan and incidents like Gujrat and many, many others have vindicated two-nation theory.Kudos sir

The new generation of both Indian an Pakistanis in UK are not interested in Bollywood as the previous generation use to be of the early 1990s. Today's youth find entertainment in the gaming industry and social media. Bollywood has produced some fine actors and actresses as such as Madhuri Dixit and Om Puri. The issue I have is when Bollywood makes exaggerated films dipicting Pakistanis as the bad people and films of bogus war scripts which have become very common in recent years. So the perfect answer is not to watch such movies and certainly do not pay to go watch a Bollywood film at the cinemas. Still for me Hollywood is a cut above all film industries. Old Punjabi movies have to be my favourites staring Mustapha Qureshi and Sultan Aria. Would love to see modern Pashto films with good story lines.

Shaan is a fine actor he played a brilliant role in Waar. Let's not forget Nollywood from Nigeria is Africa's largest film industry. We need to revive Lollywood, make it more inclusive by making films in Pashto Balochi Sindi and Punjabi.

Everyone loves us because we are the land of universal love , purity and peace.

Dil chata hai.

Pakistanis can't live without Bollywood, how else can we explain their lifting of ban on our movies just 2 months of imposing it...Good that we are spreading joy in their country!
No I'd change that to Pakistanis can't live without social media and news and women can't live without Hum TV dramas and cooking shows. it seems these are more popular than Bollywood. Nearly all Pak news channels today do not even show Bollywoods latest film releases as they once use to.

I found it very disturbing when I saw a DOCUMENTRY aired a decade ago about Sharukh Khans life. During the filming of the documentary Mr Khan encouraged his son before going to sleep to make Dua to Almighty Allah infront of the Holy Quran and then to pray to the Hindu diety Hanuman. An image of Hanuman was placed beside the Holy Quran.

@django dude why don't you make the effort and look up what kudos means?

I know most of you guys have pretty vernacular English, but this is getting embarrassing. Sir.

Cheers.
