What's new

A US Military plane Lands in Islamabad carrying US soldiers and will stay for few days in Hotel.

whoever came up with this soft image idea for Pakistan is a genius. Pakistan images is already soft, weak and a pushover. Whoever feeding this term to Pakistani establishment is just manipulating them to do more.

Thank You.

I'm amazed to see Pakistani public cannot differentiate between basing rights for drones (partnering in conflict) and allowing allied troops and refugees transit through our country (partnering in peace).

Which is a great opportunity for Pakistan’s soft image.
Providing assistance to NATO & Foreign troops and refugees is a diplomatic edge Pakistan has gained.

I’m a Pakistani living in the states since the age of 2, and I will tell you this action by Pakistan brings no value to the table and neither to the American public or the global community. This soft image approach the Pakistanis are so fond of pushing in the end never produced any results.

The country needs to have an introspective look at it self and try asserting itself more aggressively. The Western psyche doesn’t look down kindly on soft image as the one Pakistan is portraying and that is the cold hard truth no matter how you try to spin it.

Your a nuclear power and should once in awhile learn to act as one and learn to say no for once in your life.

Mohtram 20 years main image Zarort sy zada kafi soft ho Ker bigar giya hy. Ab hard ker lo warna permanent disfigurement ho jani hy.

Pakistanis don’t learn you can give them another 70 years and the approach is the same it’s a regressive thinking country and will remain so.

@PakFactor
I concur to your above post.

I can write so much for the concerned but my position does not warrant to write things out of the boundaries confined for me so I just say this …

Pakistan should start acting like a sole Muslim nuclear power … and get out of the slave mentality which is ingrained due to colonial rule of the British … I can ONLY see this mindset in very few in the corridors of power very few who value their Country above anything else … PMIK has this DNA, but the leadership whose age group is in their 60s and above are still stuck in the old mindset of “gora appeasement” … General Zia ul Haq Sahib had that in him too and quite a bit in Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto as well … both were taken out …

Look when you stand on your own principles and fight the world listens even if they hate your guts … Refrence Taliban.

So, it's fairly clear why Pakistan would allow European transit rights to get their troops out of harm's way since Europe continues to support Pakistan militarily (PN, PAF, and Army - across a multitude of domains) as well as the GSP+ economic status given to Pakistan. How's this being overlapped with giving external forces basing rights in Pakistan is just disingenius.

This is a great step guys. We have NATO and US using Pakistani facilities to resolve the Afghan conflict. I just cannot understand all the unnecessary negative sentiments. This will go a long way in pushing for renewed ties with west and handling Afghanistan.

I dont get how Qatar and UAE are helping with withdrawal- the majority should have been routed through Pakistan ideally.

Maybe we need some Block70s to calm PDF public down

Can't believe there are so many idiots in this forum. They are not here for war but for transit which won't last for few days infact soliders were the first one to return back to their respective countries (upmost 2-3 days) where as Afghans evacuees probably will stay for few days before their paper work is finished.
You are a bigger idiot. A few dollars bribe to a porter will let the us military out of the hotel unto the streets. No whete to be found again. Raymond davis returns

visa restrictions should be strict for the likes of these, who knows what types are landing in the guise of military uniform. we have already tasted a lot in the form of contractors/spies.

besides, diplomacy is a very dangerous game, you can't deny it and cannot live without it, you have to play.

true, we have our standing on Afghan issue and it is loud and clear. things only gets worse when they take leverage and we are ready for it. this time i hope they will be kept in strict control.
