I know this has been talked about a lot here before, but I was wondering if we could restart the conversation of having the ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization) unite as a single country, again. Especially because a lot of things have changed since the last time we have had this conversation (Arab Spring) and a lot of things are predicted to change (US leaving Afghanistan in 2014). Before I start I'd like to list the countries I am talking about right now. The ECO consists of:
1) Pakistan
2) Iran
3) Turkey
4) Afghanistan
5) Kazakhstan
6) Turkmenistan
7) Kyrgyzstan
8) Tajikistan
9) Uzbekistan
10) Azerbaijan
11) Turkish state of Cypriot

And the twelfth one I added on my own is Kashmir which hopefully one day will get liberated.

Let's first talk about whether the people of these countries want to join together and then we can talk about what type of political system we would have. We could use past examples that have either succeeded or failed, or we could create our very own political system. Would we be secular or have sharia law, and give reasons why we choose whatever we choose. Who do you think our allies would be as a combined nation? What are the pros and cons of us uniting? What would we be called? What would our national language be? I hope we're all creative with our answers and respectful to each others' opinions. :D

.
Please no. :argh:

The citizens within most of these countries are not united - they are killing each other. And you want to unite these countries? Two negatives will not make a positive - not here, at least.

.
Making ECO work as a robust regional cooperation platform will be the best thing coming out of it. The idea of a single unified country out of these states is ludicrous.

neo converts have more itch for ummah, khilafat etc. I am yet to see any arab demanding united ummah! Religion as lone binding factor for a nation is myth it takes a lot more like culture, language, history, ethinicity ,race etc to make a nation. Exceptions r there but only to prove the rule :)

.
Not a single country, too many extreme cultural differences for that.
But as a economic group or a group like NATO, I would completely support it

.
I support stronger economic ties between Pakistan, CARs, China but I don't think a United Muslim Central Asia organization is feasible at this time period. Gwadar is functioning we need to focus on that. Pakistan has already invited Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgzstan if I'm not mistake to the table on Gwadar so that these landlocked countries use Gwadar as their main port for exports. With China's economic prowess I'm sure Gwadar will succeed, China needs to use Gwadar more for it's own exports as well. All countries using Gwadar as a port for export obviously should be charged a transit fee which will benefit Pakistan's economy. Locals should be hired to help maintain the port, will help local economic growth and abate unemployment in Balochistan.

never will work in this modern day and era. would be too complex and irrational.

I would have ignored a mundane subject like this. However on reading of the 12th member highlighted above I was compelled to respond.

I will not go into the oft repeated lines of J&K being India & thus inseparable , I would only like to point out that the words Muslim & United when used together are oxymoronic.

lol at OP... turkey / cyprus considers itself european -another kauwa chale hans ki chaal. will not mingle with low class people like paksitanis.
iran is shia, and there is a growing voice in pak that considers shia as kafir.
all the others are formers USSR, who are aligned with china/us/russia and have a relatively small populatino and want to get rich on natural gas / oil.
the only country which pak in the above can seek integration with economically is, afghanistan.
thats the only union where there is a chance that pak can contribute economically in a positive manner.
meanwhile there will be credibility if such a unificaiton comes from a rich country and not a poor country which has nothing to offer in return

.
Good to see the inclusive title, not like there are any other religions in these countries.

will not mingle with low class people like paksitanis.

That's very cute.

racism is different from bigotry which is found in muslim nations.
indians do not like nonvegetarian neighbours.

anyway, this poll is a bad indicator of racism.
the right question should have been are you ok if people from other races are there in the share for national resources and check the answer.
i dont know the answer to that question.
In plakistan a non-muslim cannot be pm. thats 100% racist in my view.

.
I think it is a good idea in a way, we can have a Union like Europe, but I might be wrong, but I think it would be better if we drop the Muslim part from the title, so that some certain elements who consider themselves thakay dar of Islam, don't try to impose their idea on the majority of the people, because some how they consider themselves bigger Muslims than others. To avoid this, drop the title of Muslim or Islam, but use the word Republic Union instead or something.

Each state would have its own jurisdiction, according to its own needs I guess, kina like America.

As for "Sharia", to avoid fitna, I think we can use Sharia inspired Laws, but avoid using the word Sharia laws, to avoid the hijack of thakkay dar of Islam elements... etc.

If I said something wrong, Allah forgive me.

Oh great the troll brigade is here to ruin another thread which is not their business.

My friend, please step out of the small bubble you live in. Forget your neighbours! There are MORE non-vegetarians in India THAN vegetarians. Hah.

Growth and Concentration in India

In plakistan a non-muslim cannot be pm. thats 100% racist in my view.

You can't be racist against your own race. Please try again.
I guess the standards of Indian education are worse than I thought.
