A TV channel for the army?

Well , the problem in recent times is , there is "OVERLOAD" of political Talk show and
"SPECULATIVE POLITICS"

I mean a TV channel should only be allowed to Broadcast on National Level , if it PRODUCES programming

a) Drama (Hires actors, actress, writers, crew etc)
b) Variety Shows
c) Music (classical/ modern)
d) Trivia / General Knowledge Shows
e) Non Politics talk shows


Lately 1-2 people run TV shows are popping up they don't produce any "Programming" all they do is do reruns of Political talk shows , and their goal is keep "spreading malicious" propaganda

A TV channel is not a "TRUE" channel unless it employees set number of actors, actresses, and produces actively Programming that benefits the community as a whole regardless of province etc.

Many of these "so called" channels are 1-2 men show Harping up "stuff" their only clientele are these politicians who pay them for air time , and during these discussions they ask questions that have been pre-arranged.

Lack of programming is also due to fact that , these channels are not real channels but more or less outless to spread propaganda or introduce , "NEW RULERS" like a son or daughter or sister of political leaders who might be retiring

The Indian Programming should be only 10-20% of daily diet of Pakistani Viewers

License to Channels should be revoked if they do not PRODUCE content yearly

Also Only Telecom companies should be given license for Cabel Operations


PS: Another way you can tell these rouge channels are propaganda channels are that their "TALK" shows are not open to public calls , meaning I can't call in and challenge that BRAVE politician on Air about his/her political views. Which also shows why these are prearranged theatrics


You can have freedom of expression

a) Ask tough question and be a great journalist at same time
b) But you should not Accuse someone of something unless there is 100% Credible
proof.

In US , if the credible source is not there the person who reports or producer gets fired in lack of research evidence

Different Channels have different themes. Why do you not change the channel using your remote control, rather than asking the channels to conform to the programming the way you personally like.

"Military is sworn" does not mean anything. These words are used by vested interests to evoke emotions.

Unfortunately, our media has been successful in implementing their agenda. Today our own people defend anti pakistan material on media. They have made our next generation to forget even the national anthem and drilled in the desire of item songs. Stupid tv shows showing shadis and mehndis, prying in private lives of common man. Role of media should be positive, whereas, most terror is being spread through this medium itself. Wrong, exaggerated, incorrect and biased reporting has become hall mark of these channels just for the sake of rating.

Are you aware of the exception that Pakistan has been ruled by Generals for most of the time which is why we are so ignorant and backward.

My dear Instead of blaming the generals we have to see how military got an ingress into the government and who brought them in.

On a different note, nations have always been led by generals or the likes. It is due to this reason to date President of every country is the supreme commander. However, that commander is useless if he does not know what is commanding of troops is. Supreme commander takes the decision based on his own experience of field, not the experience of selling tickets of a cinema hall in black. People sitting in their airconditioned drawing rooms cannot lead a nation, especially when they talk about poor and have never seen poverty. Leadership is leading by example, what example criminals and rouges can be for the nation.

I agree that Shadi and mehndi shows day and night are an extremely stupid ideas. Good to see such stuff once in a while but some TV channels continue to broadcast it everyday and what is more, people like to watch Shadis everyday. But imposing a fixed code on media might be a far worse idea.

We need to criticize such things on a point by point basis and find a way to highlight these issues so wrong and biased reporting and underlying intentions of channels gets known to people.

Yes but a better way would be a code of conduct for media. e.g. It should be compulsory for all TV channels to play national anthem twice a day. This is in place in many countries and help develop nationalism, which is the core requirement of time. Now a days listening it on 14th August is a rarity. Flags go green and stupid item song is being played in the news. MM Alam dies and coverage goes to some birthday of so called indian celebrity. No one remembers Allama Iqbal, Liaqat Ali Khan, Shahnaz Sheikh, Zaheer Abbas or Lance Naik Mehfooz; but everyone knows when Katrina Kaif turned 18.

Local advertisement with foreign models should be banned. Moreover, all advertisement should go through a censor board with clearly outlined rules. subliminal sexual messaging should be banned.

TV anchors should be taken through training to act as anchors and not as opponents. They should be taught how to address people keeping our cultural values paramount. Today a 24 years old addresses senior people in an insulting way. This is not our culture.

If you analyse today's media, a never ending list will prop up. These issues should be controlled through a code of conduct for them and anyone violating it should be dealt legally.

I have not been to the circus but I have seen too much of it that it made me sick and now i don't. There should be laws to control this be-lagam media. Politician are more busy satisfying media than satisfying their voters. You know there is something wrong in this system when an anchor gives a warning to cabinet minister for not coming to his circus when he asked him to so now he cannot defend himself. Just leave the media alone apart from a basic framework of conduct. People will regulate them by watching only what they want. Let there be an "Askari Channel" just like so many other fauji commercial enterprises and let it fight for viewers just like all the rest. Problem solved.

Basically, nothing is wrong with that either. People will watch what they want to watch, overtly or covertly. Do you honestly think that people in Pakistan are not watching pronogarphy in their homes? How about kids on computers? However, regulatory authorities may choose to place certain limits on broadcast media as part of a basic framework based on a particular society's mindset that is the same for all channels and then let viewership decide what gets watched or not.

I am actually in favor of those channels, give them easy access so they dont waste too much time looking for it in the wrong places. This is why Google have highest **** search hits from Pakistan.

Like I said, make a basic regulatory framework to be applied fairly to all cjhannels, and then leave media alone. Let people make their own selections of what to watch or not. They are wiser than you think.
