A documentary film about Samina Baig, who at the age of 22, became the first Pakistani woman to summit Mt.Everest. She climbed for awareness about women empowerment

Samina Baig & Mirza Ali are siblings from Shimshal Valley in the upper Hunza region of Pakistan. These young flourishing mountaineers from Pakistan embarked on a Mt. Everest expedition for gender equality & women empowerment. Samina Baig reached the summit of Mt. Everest on may 19th 2013, thus making history for Pakistan, being first female mountaineer, to reach the summit of Mt. Everest at the young age of 22. During the past three years, the two mountaineers have made two documentaries promoting youth outdoor education, awareness about mountaineering and women empowerment through adventure. Most of the mountain climbing expeditions were for gender equality and education. This documentary is about Samina’s journey from her remote mountain village to the top of Mt. Everest.

people of shimshal village/valley develop themselves .... I am really inspired by GB people that how they are increasingly developing into an educated community

Hehe the Japanese have a word for girls like Samina: 山ガール (Yama Girl) or an outdoorsy girl that's into mountain climbing ^__^

I really appreciate the northern areas, I think it's great she's promoting that.... and egalitarianism, not "feminism"

This is good thing. Women started to take their rights but one thing when actually women is considered to be empowered.

What do you mean Women have started taking their rights? They have all the rights! mountain climbing or any other kind of adventure is not a right, neither is it prohibited. if you have what it takes, go do it be it man, woman, young, old, child, no one ever stops anyone. When parents voice their concerns for their kids, its not suppression, its their concern for their offspring's safety and well being, happens everywhere in the world.

This is good thing. Women started to take their rights but one thing when actually women is considered to be empowered.
