A teenager from Punjab spent Rs. 1.6 million in Player Unknowns Battleground (PUBG) for in-app purchases.
The 17-year old boy was making these purchases using his parents’ account. He bought battle passes, character skins/outfits, and other things.

The parents were clueless as to what their son was doing, as they thought he was using the smartphone for online lectures during the lockdown. This money had been set aside for the father’s medical expenses.

The boy spent almost all of the money within a month, and he did so easily because the account details and everything were saved on the mobile. The boy kept deleting the transaction confirmation messages and would change between two different bank accounts.

The parents found out that the boy had spent their money after they got bank statements for each of their accounts. He had completely emptied his mother’s provident fund.

The father said that after receiving the bank statements, he noticed that his son shuffled amounts from one bank to another to avoid ‘nil balance’.

”He was using his mother’s mobile-phone for quite some time and she was not vigilant enough to notice this”, the father said.

To teach his son a lesson, the father has made the boy work at a scooter repair shop so he will now earn his own money.
He hopes his son realizes how hard it is to earn and save money.

”I am hopeless now since the money was saved for my son’s future”, he said

. . .
What kind of parents would give a teenager access to bank accounts with that much money? Did these parents forget their own teenage? Some parents are blinded by love and affection and trust their teenagers too much. They also never trained their kid to realize importance of hard earned money and how to spend it.
One of our rich relatives working in ME sent their son to study in Pakistan, got him a flat in Islamabad and a bank account that had a few millions, for fees and expenses and all. They gave their son access to all the money. Guess what, after a year, they jad to admit their son in hospital of drug overdose and then put him in rehab for months. That kod is still mentally sick, study destroyed, career gone, now just living at home doing nothing and have mental issues.

That scooter shop idea is good though. Serves that little s**t right.

It is pretty sad. It strengthens the government's case to ban these games, even if this story is from Indian Panjab.

Nice.

Apart from addiction it also is like gambling.

More reason for it to be banned in Ryasat e Madina
