A Question about democracy and Communist Party of China

Personally, I think such transition is impossible.

BTW, such transition does not necessarily translate into a better future for China automatically.

PRC is today mainly known for a single party system where The Communist Party is dominating almost all the political processes.

My question to Chinese members in this forum is whether you think China will experience a transition towards democratization in the political sphere like post Soviet countries did after the fall of the wall? And are there strong movements in China that supports such a process?

I am neither pro-communist nor pro-democratic, i think imposing your own values to a foreign country is without any doubt wrong. Hence, if China experiences democratization it must come within, but again we have to keep in mind that liberal Democracy is not always the optimal solution to social progress.

So, are we gonna experience such a transition, what are your thoughts?

(No offence intended to our fellow Chinese friends:wave:)

I would say...with the growing economy and income disparity in china it will be hard for them to stick to their current form of government. I believe years down the line you will see china shifting to democracy...peacefully or by any other means...that i cant say but it is unavoidable...
Although folks out there do you feel that a country which censor even the communications of the common people are true about their growth figures????....

Not really. A democracy is a state where the people can do whatever they please.

China has really tight laws. However, China in its present state is the most democratic in its 5000 year history. The last decades have seen democratization unlike anything ever seen in Chinese history.

Chinese leadership have stated that democratization will occur around 2017 and that China will become a form of democracy by 2020.

Personally I think that China has the willpower and the strength to do it peacefully and gradually.

Then US is a dictatorship, and Congo is democracy. In Congo you can literally do whatever you want including rape, robbery and murder.

Japan is literally a dictatorship run by the 财阀 = zaibatsu. You know who Yukio's grand father was?

China will evolve to better and transperent governance under whatever political systems, democracy and communisim is just a vague name doesnt mean anything but propaganda

1. Chinese people believe that, Prosperous life important than a single vote. We know Western media hopes that China has a bloody revolution, to terminate the rise of China, but that is impossible.

2. Ordinary Chinese people can become president, but not through the media to get the seat. You have to start from the most junior civil servants, You must through capacity and effort been promoted again and again, So he is definitely not a fool who can be president.
So USA had some good president, for example: Clinton, Bush(old)...and USA also had some bad president, for example(only my opinion): Bush(young), Obama...

3. Wall Street can control USA gov through the media.
For example, family planning, state-owned enterprises reform, etc... these policies all can not implemented in the USA. Because selfish media will destroy it all, and USA President also did not dare to do it. But China can do it!

4. Does Hu Jintao have term limits ? Yes, 10 Years.
Does China's rights by one person to master it? No, nine people rule the country together. Hu Jintao's State Rights a lot less than Obama.

 We are Chinese, We know China, We do not believe the revolution will happen in China.
You are Indian, you believe the revolution will happen in China, Where is your self-confidence comes from? Do you know China more than we?

Look at Jasmine Revolution in China, According to Western reports: China has 1.3 billion people, only less than 100 dissidents.
