A Point Of View: What kind of superpower could China be?

I would welcome china as a balance to US. Pax Americana has no redeeming quality.

China will never be a sole super-power.
US will continue to be the dominant super-power for decades.

US-China will be co-superpowers like Soviet Union and USA were during the Cold War.

China won't replace USA.

This is what I support the most about the rise of China

In my opinion the world would be quite unfortunate to have China replace New Rome as the superpower.

Seriously though, some balance would be good. However if you ask the peripheral countries facing chinese bullying, then probably what has held true will continue - i.e. might is right.

China, currently is economic superpower

But to be complete superpower-both military and economic- it will require a very matured policy and a block like NATO.

One of the main advantage US enjoys over China is US has at least 3 to 4 nations with Trillion $ economy and very good technology base as allies. (UK,France,Japan)

This multiplies US strength as they work together to achieve US/NATO goals
