A plan to build two artificial islands near the coasts of Bahrain & the KSA

The only problem in the Gulf are humans and nothing else really. We are not talking about the Arabian Sea, Red Sea or the Indian Ocean here. The Gulf waters are largely calm from the North to the South.

This is a normal beach in the Eastern Province of KSA. It is all very peaceful. The waves are much bigger in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea if anything.

Speaking about nature then I would be more worried about polluting the water with chemicals, oil, gas etc. than a hypothetical tsunami.

I am truly glad they finally reached a point where they need to build 2 more islands . the bridge has been an utter success story (financially speaking and well as organizationally ) its show that both countries can operate with minimal border security ( a rarity in the arab and muslim world ) and the increase in traffic will also affect the bridge plans between bahrain and qatar as well as qatar and emirates .

bravo GCC bravo

Wouldn't these artificial islands damage the ecosystem and environment of the area?

What ecosystem and environment? How can artificial islands made out of sand (largely) destroy anything? The Iran-Iraq war were both sides used chemicals etc. did more damage to the Gulf than anything ever has done.

Aside from that then the Gulf is nothing in comparison to the beautiful Red Sea that has the second largest coral reefs after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Nor the Arabian Sea for that matter.

Why would those beaches etc. be destroyed if small artificial islands were to be made? There are many similar islands in the Gulf that are just natural.

In the Red Sea there are nearly 1000 small islands, mostly Saudi and Yemeni islands, some of them were even created due to volcanic eruptions.

New island appears off Yemen after volcanic eruption - Telegraph

That has not damaged the ecosystem or environment.
