personaly my take on this is: while I believe telling the Uyghurs & reducating them to love China is a must & the right thing to do, however instead of doing it by telling them "love Xi & the party" they should instead just tell them to love the country and be thankful to the Chinese nation without mentiong the party or Xi, trying to make the general Uyghur public loyal a party or a person (let alone an atheist one) instead of being loyal to just China is an exercise in futility, it will never work no matter how many times you tell him to be loyal to Xi.

if you tell a muslim person to love and be loyal and thankful to an atheist president and his party then he will just ignore everything you say while pretending to listen to you and the moment he get's out he would go back to his home and teach his kids "don't listen to what they teach you in school, your loyality should only be to independent Turkistan".

as for this particular incedent regarding the Pakistani/Uyghur guy, they may not be telling us the whole story, did he ever post anything on social media that expressed support for "Turkistan independance"? if so then yes he should be reducated, otherwise it is possible this was a mistake, in most countries (including the US for example) you have some people who may get (mistakenly and not intentionaly) accused of something they never even did, China is a nation of 1.4 billion people, it is impossible to make sure every person in this huge nation is being treated the correct way.
