Yes and he should have won along with others. Why didn't he win?

ISI has a habit of inducting people into political parties just to have a hold on them. There were a lot in PPP during 1990s.

But the point is the establishment which includes the ISI does not want a leader who would question US policies. Look around you. Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt all have center right parties and all loyal to US.

After 71, the establishment cannot take the risk of having a free and fair election.

The would be national govt party was actually allowed to form a govt by looking the other way.
