Well not really, Iran's navy still has a very long way to go.
They are still experimenting with small 1200 ton boats. Once Loghman sized (5500 ton) destroyer versions and Besat submarine are in proper mass production, then we can be elated. Iran's navy is still in its infancy. Give them a few more years and more budget, then we will see real results.

I think you're right . fact is that our deterrence power in PG is merely based on our very powerful missile tech , remove ASBMs and ASCMs and we've got little left .

for now the mouj class of frigates have been efficient enough to secure our interests overseas , but if we want to become a blue water navy and to actually project our power outside of our maritime borders (against hostile countries) we need to do much better than that .

loghman is a very very good step towards that goal .

Exatcly Dadash, nobody can do jack to Iran in the Persian gulf because no navy can survive the pounding they would receive from Iranian Khalije fars missile etc. My worry is never about in the Persian Gulf. Iran should now eye a decent blue water navy to secure our interest way out in the oceans. We Iranians should not be satisfied with every little achievement we see, we need to think much bigger. We're not some banana state that was made a few hundreds years ago, we're Iranians. Iranians had one of the largest if not the largest navy in the ancient world.

Making a submarine like Besat is not easy, how many nations can make such submarine, especially under the pressure and sanctions we were? I am not saying it is easy, it is very hard.

Our navy needs to be given the funding and proper management. The person in charge needs to have great vision.
There is absolutely nothing Iran is lacking which prevents it making much larger destroyers. Iran has everything itself from engine (gas turbine, bonyann-5 etc) to surface to air missile and all types of radars. All the navy needs now is just more funding and the right kick and we will see some serious advances.

I really, really want to see the anti ship ballistic missiles of ours on our future destroyers. Just imagine a row of 2x5 fateh-313 500km missile on right/left side of the ship. Soon hopefully we will have the needed satellites in orbit for detection of targets which would allow us to use such missile on our ships. Just imagine that fire power.

What SAM will loghman class be installed?

I have found a model for Loghman class. It should be either withou SAM or SAM is installed in the middle of the ship.
