What's new

A Decent Proposal in Pakistan.

.
Am I the only one who thought that was sort of lame... :D

I mean the singing of the song, the entire extended family present. Lame, shosha baazi.

Damn that was so cheezy and gay.

And yea there's nothing remotely Pakistani about the whole ceremony.

The guy has an American fobish accent. Nice voice and he can sing so thats a plus for his girl. The girl seems to be American/western too, otherwise she wouldn't have done that. I don't think ANY Pakistan born/raised girl would do that on her engagement infront of a massive brown desi crowd. Western born raised brown kids standards are quite a bit different so I dont blame them. BUT for Pakistani....culturally speaking thats borderline blashphemy

You know what, its not easy for a paindoo or conservative sort of guy like me to even watch it with someone from my family(infact mix gathering is not acceptable in our pushtoon culture).

Anyways, this couple and ceremony doesn't represent 99% of the pakistani public.

But i wish they live a very happy life.

Absolutely agreed.

You come from a pashtun family, and I come from a punjabi family, never seen any thing like that even though I attended a few weddings in Pakistan, even in Canada its rare for born/raised Pakistanis liberals here.

That is correct I guess. It was a catholic style engagement event.
