A Chance PN Encounter with Indian Coast Guards.....Tea offered as usual.

Have you read Stroustrup?
Heard about him when prof was discussing C++ history. Don’t remember anything the professor said though.
@PanzerKiel is a vicious, wicked individual who should be made to do a continuous week of four hours of studying Java. That'll larn him.
Four hours only?
His 9-5 should be debugging Java without anything to help him.

Read him. Seriously. The man is brilliant, and lucid.

Hmm. You have a point. The other faculty members always thought I was a bit of a wimp, and too soft on the kids. This, of course, is a particularly difficult kid.

Want to hep a fellow university, computers student doing C++? I’m getting r*ped in C++😭

i still remember my basics from uni days, i am a PM away if you want basics cleared like conditional statements, loops etc i still have my Robert Lafore which i got back in 2002/3 :p i wonder if uni kids now days go through that book or not

I remember reading Stroustrup when he first published and the thrill of realising what he was up to (kind of; I'm not a high-level expert, dealt more with 4GLs that allowed me to concentrate on the business analysis side). It seems too late to read Lafore; chances of my getting back to coding are dim. Chances of my getting to work in a business environment are themselves dim.

Lol. Don’t be that mean.
He's PARTYING.

I know. I’m teasing him back.

Because blowing a multi billion dollar submarine up in international waters is a major act of war.

But then again you think even a nuclear holocaust is not a big deal, so who am I to judge.
No one said blowing up and btw, that sub is not nuclear. Its few hundred million dollars tops. I suggested cornering it and forcing it to surface.

As far as nuclear holocaust goes, Pakistan does not have weapons to wipe out India, but India surely has enough to wipe out majority of Pakistan.

I never said India will come out of it without getting its hair mussed but majority will survive. I do say no more than 300 to 400 million deaths tops! Depending on the breaks.

An idle question - have you done the arithmetic?

AT A VERY CRUDE LEVEL,
  1. Count the numbers of dead in the original two atom bombs;
  2. Count the number of devices reported to be in Pakistani inventory;
  3. Multiply the two, #1 by #2;
  4. Do you seriously advocate mutually assured destruction? Every single study so far has suggested that any exchange of nuclear weapons will lead to a nuclear winter, and that millions more will die during the aftermath, due to injuries received, or due to illnesses contracted due to exposure to radiation during the bombings.
I am not sure how seriously you are taking these numbers. If your posts are intended to take the mickey, good luck and happy hunting. If you mean them to be taken seriously, perhaps some introspection is in order.

Not to mention the radio active particles which will be blown with heavy winds and contaminate the water and crops of India, Indians will die with Cancer and other radiation related disease.

Cmon man, cant be. I'm barely into my teens. I just loiter around here to learn something from experts here.

God forbid the day Pakistan and india actually make this exchange a reality, it won't be just Pakistanis and indians but everyone in the neighborhood and after sometime, millions more.

They may be controlling the red or black or grey button to launch these weapons, but they don't control the aftermath. It will be death of this planet.

A better suggestion is ghazwa e hind fought with swords, horses, elephants and stuff .................. any other stupidity is too much for rest of the world to allow.

I have done something better. I have taken the data from nukemap (basically population density data) and made a simple simulation to find maximum number of deaths for 200 20KT bombs -- which is the maximum yield Pakistan has. I consider both injury and deaths as deaths. The number comes much less than 400 million. This will still leave 1 billion indians alive.

I cannot say the same thing about Pakistan, however. Even with 20-30KT bombs that India has, it can kill entire population of Pakistan if it wants. Actually, Indian can easily win the war by causing a mass carnage in Punjab, rest will capitulate very fast. There is a learning from your 1965 war... You need to know where to hit.

BTW, this assumes that Pakistan will be able to deliver EVERY SINGLE of the weapons, every single one of the is 20KT (Pakistan has much more number of less than a kiltonne bombs because it wants to fight a nuclear war unlike India which wants to create a deterrence) and every single one of their weapon works. This is the limit of deaths they can cause.

In a nuclear war, India will survive... badly badly hurt though.

Now, lets take what you have suggested : 20KT nuke of nagasaki caused 80K deaths (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_bombings_of_Hiroshima_and_Nagasaki)... Lets double it. Make it 160K. So how many will 200 bombs kill? 200 * 160K = 32 million. Remember, India lost 4-10 millions in covid pandemic and though terrible loss, it did not lead to end of India. Admittedly, nuclear war will cause worse deaths, Indians will survive. Pakistan does not have enough firepower.
