Provinces with Indus Valley Civilization Sites: Sindh, Rajasthan, Punjab(both East & West), UP, Gujrat, Baluchistan, Haryana, Kashmir, Maharashtra.

Yes, Pushyamitra Shunga persecuted Buddhist but Buddhism didn't disappear from India it was continued to became popular religion in India and after that there was no major persecution of Buddhists by Hindu king.

No shit it didn't disappear totally but it was largely persecuted in India, most people who write about Buddhism in India say the decline was due to Brahmins targetting Buddhist, read Shashanka who destroyed the Buddhist Bo tree. It did receive patronage under Guptas but it doesn't change the fact that Brahmins were hostile to it and besides it makes sense why Guptas had no problem with Buddhism considering their origins.

The Buddhism that exists in entire Asia is the mix of Buddhism and Hinduism. Thailand's National Emblem Garuda originally comes from Hinduism.
