Dude Chennai and Mumbai are amazingly safe cities. Mumbai (the city that never sleeps) mein I have seen women roaming around late at night with no issues. I stayed 6 months in Chennai and the climate, language and food were a problem for me but the city had proper law and order. There is def. some problem in Delhi. Unpadh gawaar people with misogynistic attitudes from UP and Haryana have spoilt the city.

My dad got transferred to Mumbai from Dehradun, initially hated the city 'coz compared to Delhi it feels very congested and constricted, too much "bheed-bhaad", but gradually fell in love with the city. Some delhi people can be downright rude.
