Details have emerged that in the 27th February aerial conflict, the Indian Air Force SU-30 was first to be hit by Squadron Leader Hassan Siddiqui and the MiG-21 was shot down later by Wing Commander Nauman Ali. It's worth noting that by Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan's own admission, he was shot down within 90 seconds of entering into the dogfight. AMRAAM missile has a flight time of about 120 seconds.
This encounter also proved how badly the IAF is organised.
Take the ground environment around LOC for example. Every time one side carries out a ceasefire violation, it inevitably expects retaliation from the other side thus takes all the necessary measures to avoid being caught in the open to prevent loss and damage. The IAF was boasting that it had carried out what it called surgical strikes inside Pakistan during the middle of night. The PAF replied with daring daylight raids on six Indian ground targets without any challenge from the IAF and when it eventually realised what was happening, it ended up losing at least three aircraft, two due to PAF's actions. After it's previous day bravado, the IAF should have been prepared to counter such an eventuality but as promised it was completely surprised and defeated on all levels.

We even bombed their areas, we crossed LOC with 24 jets and went back unharmed. IAF also admitted we crossed LOC... Where is super power ? I thought they were taking about two fronts wars.
What happend so called 200 mini AWACs such as Su30Mki. They were saying it 3rd best fighter after F22 & F35.

I have a close connection which mentions two additional Migs where shot down on Feb 28/1st March when India tried to invade Pakistani airspace another time. This may be true as India says they lost two Migs in the month of March, one on 6th March and other on 31th. If the news is true, then India lost 4 jets to Pakistan.

Since Feb 27, they are lamenting the absence of Rafale in their fleet.

We have yet to see the Pakistani perspective on this yet with details of the SU 30 whether it was shot down around the Budgam area or Raesi where the missile was allegedly recovered or the local area of "three parachutes". So far we have been forced to piece together from different Indian analyses which have been leaked by them. It would give an innate satisfaction to find out that the ghazi Saab ERIEYE used to guide the airforce was the one they tried to destroy through their terrorist proxy's that was subsequently fixed by us. Probably their most embarrassing leak is the "lack of firing solutions" for the SU 30 and their pride that it was able to run away from the field.

In addition, from OSINT - Kashmir Intelligence - for about an hour after the incident there were no jets over IOK while OSINT also indicates PAF were buzzing all over Pakistan in anticipation of a response. That by itself is an embarrassing fact that I haven't seen highlighted. This plus the statement of their foreign minister indicates that Modi didn't want a further escalation immediately.

Its just mind boggling that they thought Pakistan would take an attack on its territory without a response. It makes sense that SOMEONE in their apex decision body would feel that way, but there's no way everyone felt that way. If they did, it shows a tremendous lack of Intelligence on their part - both field and actual.

One thing this episode has confirmed for them for some time is any attempts such as this will not lead to a unanimous drive to aerial surgical strikes on their part. Infact, realistically its not an option, unless they want to risk another embarrassing episode where they are the laughing stock of the world. Unfortunately, they are much more likely to go for pushing more terrorism against soft targets.

No that's probably an over exaggeration by your connection as hiding such an incident given the circumstances would've been next to impossibe.

this thinking was not limited to just their top tier decision making body but it was prevailing in their general masses as well (and I believe this thinking still exist in some of their circles)
