Updated at: 0825 PST, Monday, April 27, 2009
ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has handed over nine Chinese militants arrested from Fata to Beijing.
The Chinese militants handed over to Beijing were involved in attacks on security forces and other terrorist activities.
Islamabad top sources confirmed that the government has handed over nine Chinese militants to the Chinese government. Sources said that Interior Advisor, Rahman Malik was proceeding on an emergent visit to China on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, wher he would be holding vital talks with the security officials.
Muslim majority province in China adjacent to Pakistan border, Sinkiang four years ago had witnessed extremists uprising, which was crushed with power and about 200 people were killed in the process.
It is said that this movement enjoyed support of a Pakistan political and religious party, which had necessitated three agreements between Pakistan and China against the militancy and extremism and the nine Chinese militants recently handed over to China under these agreements.
