85 percent of bombs used in Afghanistan originate from Pakistan: retired US general

04-02-2020

Speaking at a Heritage Foundation event this week, Jack Keane, a former vice chief of staff of the US Army, said that Pakistan’s intelligence service and its army have been supporting the Taliban.

He said that Pakistan was harboring the Taliban at Miramshah and Quetta and it supported two fertilizer factories where 85 percent of all IEDs made inside Afghanistan to kill Afghans and Americans come from.

Keane also said that he was not optimistic about the potential for a peace settlement in Afghanistan.

He said that the Taliban believe that a deal with US will help tip the political and military balance in their favor and help them to eventually overthrow the Afghan government.

“They don’t want a political settlement, they don’t want to share power, they don’t want to participate in a democracy,” Keane said adding 85 percent of Afghanistan reject the Taliban.

Keane also said his politically astute sources in Afghanistan say the Taliban wouldn’t win a single district in the event of an election.

“The people absolutely do not want them because they’re living under their boot,” Keane said of the Taliban. “They’re living under their tyranny. They’re living under the fact that they can’t educate their children.”

Does this general knows that just a few days ago US drone blew up a whole family including a woman who had just given birth???

US administration has already thrown in the towel at Afghanistan. There is simply nothing for the states to gain by sticking around in this part of the world. But understandably, voices within the American establishment want to continue the fight. Their demands will simply be ignored.

does it mean that 85 % of the credit of blasting US asses in afghanistan goes to pakistan?

iraq had WMDs. remember .

Why don't you secure the border then

20 years of moaning and neither the yanks or idiot afghanis can secure the border after spending or should I say wasting over a TRILLION

You mean in the neighborhood of China, Russia and Iran. Near Xingjiang which is the underbelly of China. Its a sweet spot for US to keep on eye on on Central Asia.

1. The US did some work with Pakistan to change the chemical composition of fertilizer produced in Pakistan to one less useful for use in IED's

2. What kind of broadbased financial and technical assistance was offered by the US to help Pakistan in modifying the chemical composition of fertilizer produced in Pakistan and/or put in place more robust measures to control the sale and use of fertilizer? In a country of 200 million where the majority depend on agriculture, how feasible is it to even attempt to control the movement and sale of fertilizer?

3. The US provided little to no support for Pakistan's efforts to fence and control the Afghan-Pakistan border and did little to nothing to criticize & prevent Afghan attempts to undermine border fencing & controls that would have played a strong role in preventing cross-border smuggling of fertilizer.

4. What are US statistics on US-Afghan tracking and accounting for fertilizer brought into Afghanistan for allegedly legal purposes? Do the Afghan's not need fertilizer from Pakistan?

Unfortunately, US Generals and analysts continue to disappoint with their shallow blame-game and refusal to accept responsibility for their own failures and inability to come up with solutions to address the problems they knew were present for decades.

Who is supplying the rest of 15%?

1-Definitely the fertilizer is transported across border by some super human or alien technology so that US forces across border cannot see or control the movement. :police:.
2-By the way any chemical engineer worth some knowledge can make a bomb out of common off the shelf stuff available in grocery stores so why go the difficult route.
3-It takes some processing !!!!!!!!! to convert fertilizers produced in Pakistan into an explosive.
4- Of course Govt. of Pakistan and ISI are so stupid to carry fertilizers in bags with trade marks of Pakistani companies to leave an easy track.:o:
5- All other borders of Afghanistan are perfectly secure and all other parties involved are angels to not bring anything in Afghanistan.8-)

Afghanistan does not have access to sea. So it cannot be used to launch an invasion of these countries.

US also does not need to launch U2 type spy planes to snoop around anymore.
