8 Major Generals of Pakistan Army have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Generals.

These include;

1. Director General Military Training Maj. Gen. Muzammil Hussain.

2. Deputy Chief of General Staff Maj. Gen. Sajjad Ghani.

3. GOC 17 Div, Maj.Gen. Khalid Rabbani.

4. Maj.Gen. Zahir-ul-Islam.

5. DG FC Maj. Gen. Tariq Khan.

6. Commandant PMA Maj. Gen. Raheel Sharif.

7. IG FC Balochistan Maj Gen Salim Nawaz.

8. Major General Agha Farooq

The new appointments haven't been made public...so we may have to wait a bit longer to be sure. But he would be suitable for the job i guess.

3. Lt Gen Raheel Sharif appointed Corps Commander, Gujranwala.

5. Lt Gen Muzammil appointed IG T&E.

6. Lt Gen Agha Farooq appointed Chairman NDU.

7. Lt Gen Zaheer-ul-Islam appointed Corps Commander Karachi.

8. Lt Gen Sajjad Ghani appointed Quartermaster General.

Wasn't Zahir-ul-Islam a DDG at ISI? Being posted out it seems since Pasha isn't going anywhere. And when was Khalid Rabbani sent to GHQ? I thought he was Commandant at Staff College. Isn't Farrukh Rashid the GOC 17 Div?

I am not sure about Gen. Khalid Rabbani. The news says he had been promoted and appointed Commandant Staff Colleg Quetta.

Eight Major Generals of the Pakistan Army have been promoted to the ranks of Lieutenant Generals here on Thursday.

According to Military Sources, with the sheer consultation with Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani, Eight Major Generals that include Major General Raheel Shareef, Major General Zaheer, Major General Khalid Rabbani, Major General Sajjad Ghani, Major General Tariq Khan, Major General Muzammal, Major General Saleem Nawaz and Major General Agha Farooq have been promoted to Lieutenant Generals respectively.

Sources further say that Major General Raheel Shareef is currently the Commandant of the Military Academy Kakul while Major Sajjad Ghani is performing duties as Deputy Chief of the General Staff. Maj Gen Tariq Kahn is currently IG FC Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa, Maj Gen Muzamil Ahmed DG Military Training and Maj Gen Khalid Rabbani is working as GOC 17 division.

They will assume their new responsibilities after their formal promotions.
