I predict 5 Indian companies remain on the Fortune 500 list next year.
The top two Indian companies are high up on the list (ranked 83rd and 99th).
The last six are vulnerable, especially the bottom three. Knock 20% off their revenue (to match the drop in the Indian Rupee) and they will probably fall off the list.

Eight Indian companies in Fortune 500 list; IOC, Reliance lead pack - The Times of India
"Bharat Petroleum featured at 225th place, followed by Hindustan Petroleum (267), SBI (285), Tata Motors (314), ONGC (357) and Tata Steel (401)."
I think many of the eight Indian companies will fall out of the Fortune 500 list in the next two years after the 20% drop in the Indian Rupee's value has been factored into the calculation.
This is your high water mark (e.g. 8 companies) for years to come.
that is correct on the concept but I cant quantify the no!
the survey is done before the severe drop of the rupees during the last month or so. a further freefall of the rupees can only provide the basics for a drop in total asset values of indian companies which lose weights through currency conversions!
there is no way they can pick up the increase in net asset values by 20% in a year due to increase in sales n reserves unless there is an equivalent equity injection
and in respect of the Tata conglomerate, they have this to worry about:
S&P lowers Tata Power credit rating outlook to 'negative'
