62nd or 63rd Independence Day ????

14 August.. is when we got the independence. That should be the independence day, plus all the other 14s that come after. Which should make it 63rd? Bloody confusing.

Yes that ('47) was an independence day, but then when i was born that too was my birth--day, why dont we count that one?

May be the difference is of age (62 years since Independence or 62 years old independence) Vs the 'count' of the 'DAYS' we celebrated our independence.

14th Aug-

1958 to 67 =10

1968 to 77 =10

11+20*5+2=63

get it?

You are Wrong Man
1948 was the First Completed year of Independence

. . . .
30 yrs completed and 31st running dear sir! Pls try to understand. There is a difference between 62 yrs of independence and 63rd Independence day! Get it?

SS dear i got you loud and clear, but my concern is that:

do we celebrate the number of years since we have been liberated (i mean we celebrate and be happy and feel proud that such many years have passed and we still remain independent and tell others about the duration since we have been indepent),

or

do we just count the number of times the 'date' has re-appeared on the calendar?

If we count the number of time the repetition took place yes it is the 63rd day of independence, but wouldnt this mislead observers as regards to the age?

If you were born in 14th Aug 1947 then you should have have taken birth 62 times plus 1 today. Which makes it 63.

Age is different. You age 1..after passing of one year.

I think i am in the 63 line now.

Let me clarify once again. 63rd Independence day means that a person who was born prior to 1947 and alive today has seen this event (that is independence day of Pakistan) 63 times. However, Pakistan has been independent for 62 years. That s it!

.
No but SS has a point.

It is the 63rd Independence day... And Pakistan's 62 years old. Two very different things.

Lol but I know its all too lame. 62 it is!
