My uncle visited India few years ago along with his Baluchi friend. They landed at Delhi, took a train to Ludhiana and from there to Qadian. He was amazed that unlike Pakistan India has maintain and expanded its colonial era train system. He specially loved the fact that people were so friendly. Specially when they found out that his mother's home town was Ludhiana. The local Sikhs were the friendliest people. The Sikhs in Qadian called him as his brother who was visiting his own home.

This makes me want to travel to India at least once in a life time. Looks like something to experience once in your life.

I do recommend you visit Kerala as well, my place of birth

Indian rail is our pride.. I would count it next to our democracy..
I always tell this to folks here who want to visit(apart from statutary rape warning ) if you did not travel in Indian railways, you did not experience India.

I eagerly waited for the chana chaat wala but was instead visited by a waiter every 20 minutes or so. Each time, he handed me a tray load of things to eat, so much so that with a mouthful throughout the journey, I barely spoke to my companions. I missed all those colorful characters from my childhood, now replaced by packed food from a host of companies, diligently offloaded onto keen consumers.

The writer must have been in AC/FC. Hawkers still move around in lower classes.

One thing is sure, How much we fight here on this forum, I have very good impact of Pakistanis outside. They respect and meet as one of ours (except very few A**hole but then there are many Indians as well ).

My PM from client side, here in Canada, is Pakistani and we have very good relation. He said that company wants to send him to Bangalore but it is very difficult for him to get Visa even though he Canadian citizen. After David Headly's episode, India started checking country of origin as mandatory procedure so Visa became tough for Pakistani origin.

Well my plan is to actually visit Qadian as it holds special place in my heart. Other then that these pictures makes me think of proper tour of India, specially the South.

I've been to Qadian many times since I have relatives there. The Masjid in Qadian with the famous minaret is very beautiful to be seen. You must visit during december Jalsa. People from all over the world come there.

Jaggu, that place is in Ooty. It's in Tamil Nadu, close to the border of Kerala I believe

This is the Queen of the Hill Stations - Nilgiris.

And yes, a lot of Bollywood as well as South Indian films are shot here!
