- Terrorists firing from a three-storey police building, many trapped there

Three security personnel have been killed and one terrorist has been shot dead in a terror attack at the district police lines in south Kashmir's Pulwama in the early hours today. Two police officers are also feared dead inside a building where the attackers are holed up, officials said.
In a pre-dawn attack, at least three heavily-armed attackers stormed the police lines where hundreds of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF personnel are stationed, police said.
After forcing their entry into the police building, terrorists resorted to indiscriminate firing and lobbed grenades. Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans and one policeman were killed while six were injured.
Security forces are trying to regain control of two buildings where the terrorists are hiding, and firing is going on. Officials said they are also evacuating policemen from adjacent buildings on the campus, which houses the district headquarters and residential buildings.
"...Two to four terrorists are still trapped," Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi said in a news conference in New Delhi. "Two SPOs (special police officers) are there. Not sure whether they are safe. Some danger to their life still exists," Mr Mehrishi said, adding a house was also set ablaze.
Munir Ahmad Khan, Inspector General of Police, said they are evacuating people. "Both CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir (personnel) are stationed in police lines," Mr Khan said.
