Posted: Thu Oct 14 2010, 01:13 hrs

As many as 6,800 Indians are detained in foreign jails on various charges ranging from theft, ****, murder, illegal stay, forgery of visa, drug trafficking etc. This information was submitted by the Regional Passport Officer (RPO), Chandigarh, Vitul Kumar to the Punjab and Haryana High Court during the resumed hearing of a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Justice Amar Dutt (Retd). The petitioner had alleged that over one lakh Indian immigrants, men and women, mostly from Punjab are behind bars in foreign lands.

dude we have record who is illegal and who is not and we accept that the Illegal one is Indian. But on your side its a different story. When some one asks a Pakistani who is Punjabi he will not say that he is from Pakistan he will simply say he is from Punjab or India. more than 10000 are in jail and some are recognized as Pakistanis by your counsellors in High Commission ( basically from Intelligence service) and more than half are not recognized. Your Counsellors in Embassy just detain the passport of the person so that he cannot go back or recognized, neither he wishes for that.
And when he wishes then things are easy, and investigation is over. LOL
