56 Percent of Chinese Say Environment More Important Than Growth

. .
Development is a must and it is essentially anti-status quo. It is bound to disturb the environment. Nothing political about it, unlike how the non-academic The Diplomat cunningly attempts to paint.

This sort of politicizing everything only leaves a bad impression of the source. If three decades ago, this kind of manipulation would make an impact, but today, with all the anti-China rhetoric, people are pretty much hardened. The general opinion is: If in WSJ or NYT, it must be lie, or partial lie, or twisted truth to serve certain interests.

The general view in China is: Poverty cannot be alleviated without development. Environment can be reclaimed after a certain level of development is achieved. Hence, China will follow the development route, disregarding the crocodile tears of the West and its allies, while taking care of its environment in an incremental manner.

Chinese leadership is no less smart than that of the Japanese :)

China's air pollution has definitely had historical parallels.

The Economist, Aug, 2013:
"China is broadly right about one thing: its environmental problems do have historical parallels. With the exception of Chongqing, the largest municipality, most Chinese cities are no more polluted than Japan’s were in 1960. Excluding spikes like that in Beijing this year, air quality is improving at about the same rate as Japan’s did in the 1970s."

Yes, some parts in a certain time period, more pollution, but definitely not as bad as foreigners say. Before looking at the Japanese domestic public online comments, always put the China portrayed as hell terror, including China environment, ha ha,Especially since the outbreak of the Diaoyu Islands.:-)
Thanks for your concern
We have to solve the problem..

I hope that no nuclear accident in Japan, Fukushima is no longer leaking, at least until the 2020 Olympics ended

Vietnamese Idiot, get out

断背 is not appropriate, I think Nihonjin is a puto.

China is extremely dirty country!

No wonder if everyone want to fix it first, rather than empty economy growth that is not reflecting the people on the street level.

This is not China.

This is Detroit with the slums. Stop lying.

Gentlemen, let's get back to the subject matter.

Be civil, please. We can discourse without having to insult each other.

?? This is definitely not in a major American city. It simply isn't legal. Land isn't divided up this way.
Just because somebody posted it on this page and said it was Detroit doesn't make it correct.

The same pic is used here to describe Paris (which i think is probably wrong too)
