50 Lakh Jats From 13 States To Join Protest At Jantar Mantar

The point which you are missing is historical injustice meted out to backward castes. This was due to discriminatory social structure of Hindu society.

This discrimination and social neglect was meted out due to their castes not due to income. That is why reservations were provided on the basis of caste lines not on income.
its not atonement of historical injustice.. its more to do with their CURRENT status, they can never be equal if govt does not give them a helping hand. Even now, in my ancestral village, a lower caste cannot enter my house. We have separate sets of cups/plates/glass for lower caste people if we ever get a visit, and they usually stay outside. This is 2017. Now, I don't want govt to legislate anything that will force upper caste to be more considerate, rather I want lower caste to have enough money/prestige that these things become irrelevant.
We think money is a great equalizer, it might be so in cities, but in small town and villages, its still old style thinking. I have met people younger than 40 that think in terms of caste, so, please don't believe for a second, based on your immediate friend circle, that caste based discrimination has significantly reduced. You have no idea how castist even the most educated could be.

I agree that caste is still a big factor for discrimination. But some still refuses to see the daylight in the mad pursuit of reservation. Look your self.

If you know anything about social structure then you should know your caste could tell how much money you have.

Cast has nothing to do in today world and anyone be it SC/ST , OBC , General can get into any job by doing hard work but why one has to do more hard work than other to get the same job?
