Jo @waz bhai jan he is right! thats what I have heard the muslims mostly from middle east are doing in Western Countries all they do is recite Bismillah before eating any Jhutka food and it's OK, but it's OK for them not for those who understand what it is all about actually.

He is right.

Thank you bro. I'm glad you have observed this very strange thing as well.

waz bhai its not strange not a bit of it but it's something utterly STUPID! which shows what they are actually practicing in their countries.I never meant to say that they are having non Halal in their countries but I am pointing out the interpretation of them.
We the south asians if not everyone but most of us become paranoid with food items in western countries.
And the funnier and wierd part of us is when we fly in some carrier other than PIA a very few do something like after having a lot of alcohol ask for Halal food :hitwall::rofl::crazy:

buttlers cafe :smitten: everything is good there..:enjoy:

people caught with donkey meat in punjab..few incidents, its was all over the news..

Not just in Punjab in Karachi too and media is now frequently catching these type of people but issue is the punishment is very low on this crime.

Its not just donkey, dogs, pigs are also sold to eat under disguise of meat or beef also dead animals are also sold in market.

Its better to eat vegetables outside home although there is very dangerous story about them too which media highlighted.

It seems Pakistanis are eating n drinking poisonous stuff and when medical help is required then that also a Pandora box of stories

Mr Lunatic learn the definition of secularism first before you talk through your rear end.
Ouch i guess i hit a raw nerve there, but truth always hurt. Your track-record says all about your distorted perception of the religion, but your selected application of the religious dietary code here is nothing but a sheer show of idiocy and sanctimony. You are a glaring example of '' I love wine but consider pork haram". BTW......if someone is being polite, don't prove your worth to them by acting like a cheapo.

Some say 'khatai' means six in Persian' owing to the six original ingredients used to make this delightful desi biscuit.
Naan Khatai is the quintessential desi biscuit; with a predominately melt-in-the-mouth texture, it is as addictive as the greatest addictions out there.

The Hobson Jobson: A Glossary Of Anglo-Indian words and Phrases describes thenaan khatai as;

Nuncaties: Rich cakes made by the Mahommedans in W. India, chiefly imported into Bombay from Surat.

Needless to say, nuncatie is what the British called naan khatai, the literal meaning of the word comes from the Persian word naan meaning bread and the Afghan word khatai meaning biscuit; hence, bread biscuit.

Some sources say that khatai means six in Persian, referring to the six original ingredients used to make the naan khatai.

An article titled Naan Khatai Cookie, written by Jennifer Bain, Food Editor at the Food and Wine section of the Toronto Star, says the following:

This popular cookie from the [subcontinent] is salty, sweet and eggless, writes Janaki Subramaniam of Scarborough. Naan is Hindi for bread, she explains, while some historians claim that khatai is Persian and means six, the original six ingredients in the naan khatai [of the sixteenth century], namely flour, eggs, sugar, butter or ghee, almonds and toddy as leavening agent.

Subramaniam says the cookies date back to the 16th century when Dutch explorers [the original spice traders] ran a bakery in Surat, India, and later sold it to a local employee named Dotivala. The bakery then started serving poor locals instead of Dutch expats, but since the locals wouldn’t touch toddy (sap from a palm tree used to make an alcoholic beverage), the bread often sat unsold and became dry and crispy, and a few locals starting dunking it in some kind of hot beverage. The bakery seized on the idea of turning it into cookie-sized morsels without egg or toddy, and the deliciously simple Naan Kathai was born.
