Bro, that's very accurate. In fact from what I've gathered, their population size is close to double .
Anyways, there was probably one 'reference' in that stupid propaganda piece and even that was completely pulled FROM HIS ARSE (as you mentioned). Where the heck does that book mention that? And you should check out another one of his articles 'Bollywood has run out of punjabis' Why does he fantasize so much about punjabis?
Btw, I think you should not name him and shame him. That's akin to giving him 'izzat' that he doesn't deserve and that propaganda article more importance than it deserves. Just mention the fact that there's so much propaganda against punjabis. The worst part is not the article itself though. It's the fact that it was published in a Pak publication and was cheered like the way it was. Mind you he didn't even read the very first book that deals with mughal-local relations and which is the 'Baburnama' itself in which groups like Ghakkars, Janjuas are clearly mentioned and the role that they played. At the end Babur clearly says that one of the Janjua chiefs was martyred when they had laid siege to Rana Sanga's fort. I mean he didn't read the very first book but has 'read' Ain-e-Akbari
Edit :Check out page 377 of Baburnama online (W.M.Thackson translation). It mentions chief Sankar Khan Janjua's martyrdom. Close to a year after First Panipat and around Khanua (Khanwa)
He made Janjua and Awans "conquered by Afghans" according to "ain-e-akbari". I read the same book and it specifically mentions regions ruled by Awans and Janjuas, which are the same as what they rule today. I wonder from where he brought the Afghan connection. And as you mentioned both the Janjuas and Awans were independent people as Babur described. Like I mean you shouldn't lie like that to the gullible masses who will believe anything media feeds them. But I figured out is that a lot of ethnic groups are collectively jealous of us for some reason, even when we are tolerant and respectful in return. I sensed that jealousy from the comments under that article, a lot of which were sadly written by Pakistanis.
But yes this is an off topic post.
