43 militants surrender, lay down arms in Balochistan

Welcoming news. Govt should offer them some jobs or soft loans so that they can start their own business, this will help them financially and they won't regret laying down arms.

The insurgency is dead in the water.

It will stay dead if grave importance is given to a few things.

The full implementation of democracy in Baluchistan as one of the main reasons why Baluchistan remained backward is bcz the govt of pakistan always focused on the sardars rather than the people. In fact we continued funneling money to sardars believing that if we kept them in pockets then it will be alright and the people of Baluchistan under their thumb suffered. We must make sure the money Trickles down and the people are given not only constitutional rights but also development.

This brings us to the other thing that we must do and that us bring development into Baluchistan and increase their middle class. With reduction of poverty and provision of greater educational and health facilities, the people themselves will not only benefit pakistan but also help strengthen the institution of democracy. For this CPEC is imperative and must be utilized to it's maximum capabilities. The evolution of democracy and the finishing of the flip flopping ( ie the democracy dictatorship dance we so wilfully indulged in for 60+ years) will allow us to tackle these issues.

Which brings us to the most important part which is the manning, fencing, trenching and sealing of the border with Afghanistan which spans 1100 km. Now I am not asking to build the great wall ( I would love to but the terrain in many areas don't allow that) but I am.most certainly asking to man the border as much as we can and fence it and create check posts along with every other border security that is implementable. We have made a trench of 1100 km at the entire border and work is being done even now to create border controls. This will kill outside interference as well as the working camps and training camps of these insurgents. If you actually look at these terror heads that sit in Canada, Germany, Sweden e.t.c and you will find that all of them used Afghanistan to escape. Daud khan in the 60s had terror camps in Afghanistan for the training of militants for baluchistan and he could do that bcz he knew that the border was open and porous. The day this ends is the day the insurgency is choked bcz Baluchistan on the east borders sindh, on the north it borders kpk, on the south it borders the Arabian sea and on the southwest it borders Iran ( who also hates the baluch insurgency due to sistan issues and these outside sitting terror heads). It's the northwest that must be protected.

Focus on this must be paramount and of grave importance

Not disagreeing with you here. It may not be large scale, but it will return, in smaller form. I remember reading news articles during the 1990s about the Sui gas line being blown up by Baloch militants.

I do agree that both CPEC and Iran will dampen any Baloch militancy. I'm just saying don't totally discount their return.

By that definition, the Sikh independence movement will return strongly to india.

For now...Balochistan has always been a restive province. Peace has made interludes, but militancy will always make a return.

It Could, but now over 40,000 Baloch serve in the army. You're beginning to see career military families in the province, which pretty much spells the end of the troubles forever. I wrote an in-depth post about this in the senior section on why the insurgency doesn't even amount to trickle now.

What about controversy over CPEC? We're building a primary school in Gawadar and comparing it to a Billion dollar project in LHR.. Don't you think that controversy is something chaotic?? And a golden chance for neighbors to be vindictive and carry out their propaganda..

Help them get back into the mainstream.
thats the thing
some desperates tried stirring up sectarianism by murdering hazara women and killing some FC guys but it wont work no more

the bastards running farrari camps in Afghanistan have gone desperate and resorted to killing hazara's .. the best they can do is kill ordinary people and claim balochistan is bad. hopefully there will be an Uri on those camps inside Afghanistan too.

We should start concentrating on the western route and projects of CPEC rather then the punjabi route .
