Thanks for sharing, I wasn't aware about this. My personal experience is there are 2 types of migrants. Firsts are those who belongs to nice financial background and migrate to other country for studies and later to settle while others are from poor financial background, who collect money to go abroad and earn handsomely. We are discussing here second kind of migrants who normally trespass through Visa channel.

I've not heard of a lot of illegal immigrants from China to Malaysia (not to say the aren't any) because I believe the pattern of illegal immigration differs from country to country. South Asia illegal immigrants tend to move toward South East Asia and East Asia tend to move toward Oceania / Europe.

Malaysia largest population of illegals are definitely from Indonesia because they speak almost the same language and can easily assimilate in the population.

Actually you are right in terms of migration from neighbour countries. This happens everywhere because of similarity of langauge or culture to neighbour country but then there is different lot of migrants who normally migrates to other countries, which are either developed or they have some nice quantity of their ethnic group/community. In Malaysia, India and China both have this advantage.

Haha apologies got carried away, I thought the conversation shifted to a migration statistics about Malaysia. No doubt about that though both countries have similar issues with illegal migration but ultimately as you said its in search for a better livelihood.
