If you are talking about that 60sq km area, remember we share roughly 3,500kms of difficult terrain with each other and the climate, geography so hostile that even with significant man power it is impossible to guard the entire LAC. That 60 sq km occupied at different regions is not a dazzling military acheivement as some Indian analysts and Pakistanis are assuming it to be. A little common sense would help.

Indians should know starting a war with China is risky. Losing war(quite likely) doesn't mean going back where you were from. It means territory loss. China will retake South Tibet. And NE India will be a pro China independent country.

NE Indians really get treated like shit. Their lives would be 10000X improved if they were assimilated into China. They'd probably realize how awful their lives were under India after 30 years of Chinese rule and be among the most loyal citizens to the PRC.

It's a big gamble but Modi has thrown everything in with the anti-China bet.

The big risk is that if China is not contained and the US position deteriorates further, China and India may end up getting into a war where China could just seize India's chicken neck and take away the Northeast territories. The people in these territories would probably welcome Chinese citizenship since they get treated like shit by India and are labeled Chinkies. China would actually build infrastructure in these regions and they'd be grateful.

I think the military gap between China and India is in itself a force multiplier for China. The huge military gap between China and India alone by itself is enough to act as a deterrent against anything beyond a skirmish with India without China having to flex its muscle. Also the fact that even Pakistan can effectively hold a stalemate against India means that in any serious war where India has to fight China, India is doomed to either lose or lose badly.

I think NE Indians already know that anything is better than their current situation of being stripped of citizenship and excluded as citizens from NRC and CAB.

Reasons why India did not initiate this:

1) Modi has just won an election last year. The next elections are 4 years away

2) Indian voters get influenced by Pakistan only. Many Indians do not even know much about China or the dispute with China. If Modi needs help politically then it would be a war with Pakistan and certainly not with China

3) Indian military is at weakest in history

I agree with all of these points, but I will add:

Indian population knowing nothing about dispute with China is a bigger problem for India than China.

Yeah of course all Indians are patriotic because anyone who isn't is going to be excluded through CAB and NRC

Ask all the Northeast Indians who were excluded and stripped of citizenship how much they like India and then we'll talk. Some of them have probably already left and taken Chinese citizenship after being abandoned by India.

I have many Tibetan friends whose relatives are in India. They are just being denied to enter China again. Some who are lucky got thru and reunited with their families. The rest are being denied entry. You can keep those Tibetans.
