In my openion we shluld divert Large portion of Ganga jamuna river to dry regions of Central and Western India. I guess we are already doing it by River linking project.

Sonadadia or Matarbari deep seaport will be partially financed by Japan. So, why Indian support is needed. I have seen Cox's Bazaar Airport many years ago. Did Indian planes destroy it?

Cox's Bazaar Airport was supposed to be a Chinese project financed by China.

I don't know if they backed out.

One reason may have been that it was a joint military/civilian use project and the neighbor country to the East had issues with the strategic placement so close to the Rakhine state and the various sea-ports, yards and naval installations in that country.

The Ganges Barrage Project was visualized soon after Farakka. But, Farakka's bad effects have been almost neutralized after we successfully changed the crop season to winter. So, it may be a waste of many billion dollars of money if the barrage is built to wash down the salinity in the coastal belt.
