33 soldiers feared swept away to Azad Kashmir

Yes its better to ask for PA and governments help..it will help in finding them..i am also hoping for finding them alive..and in the worst case if they are dead..we should not allow them to be rotten in the mud..should give those guys proper burial and respect..:frown:

Dont jump to worst conclusion. If you contact Pakistan only then the officials can know and do anything for them. Our Army rescue operations are quite good.

I am sure they can be traced. India should be quick to take up the matter. Dont waste time which could lead to any worst conclusion.

Wish i have the authority to do that :undecided:

I also hope and wish these men are alive and well and brought back to India asap.

IA would definitely have taken steps by now and would have communicated with the PA and PA would have alerted the people on its side and looking for them also.

But i have been to that area and saw the 92 floods, and we can see the floods in that area now also, the water flow in hilly terrains are very cruel, fighting such waves is nearly impossible for a human being, i remember how in 92s flood PA soldiers bodies were found strapped to tree trunks after their camps got submerged & land was cut off due to water and they had to go to high ground in the shape of strapping themselves to tree trunks and the water then uprooted the trees and these men went with them. Very cruel deaths.

But there is always hope, even if not all 33, some of them get back, that still would be something to celebrate.

Praying for their safety and well being.

IA has informed PA about the issue and sought help. Local commanders have been notified on our side and asked to look out for these men. Hopefully, we can hear some good news later in the day !

yes, both nations are suffering from floods now. This is not the time to be enemies, but to show our humanity. Hope these soldiers are found and returned to India.

While hope has diminished for the safe return of these Jawans, i am not giving up hope completely, so i am not wishing them "RIP", because i would rathe keep my hope alive.

This is the latest story...

LEH, India, Aug 9, 2010 (AFP) - The death toll from flash floods in India's remote Himalayan region of Ladakh reached 150 on Monday, with officials warning that hundreds of people were still missing.

Among those feared dead are 26 Indian soldiers stationed at a small army post on the de facto border with Pakistan, Lieutenant General S. K. Singh told the Press Trust of India news agency.

"Our total losses are 26 (men) and I think the bulk of them would be buried under the rubble," he said. "However, it cannot be ruled out that some of them could have been washed away."

Pakistan takes care of Indian better than India Takes care of Pakistaniz. I'm Sure if Indian Soldiers are alive, they will be helped, treated and returned. Have faith on that aspect at-least.

Pakistan Hands Over Body Of Indian Soldier

SKARDU: Pakistan has handed over the body of an Indian soldier, recovered from the Shyok river in Ghanche district of Gilgit-Baltistan, to India.

Villagers spotted the body of an Indian soldier floating in the River Sheok in Khaplu on Sunday. As soon as they saw the body, the villagers rushed to pull it out of the river.

Sources in Skardu told The Express Tribune that the body was found by some male villagers who were hauling out wood from the river.

The deceased Indian soldier, who was in his early 30s, was probably taking part in rescue operations in flood-hit Indian Kashmir. Floodwaters may have carried him over to Pakistan.

The local people later handed over the body to the military authorities who arranged for the handing over of the corpse at the Kargil sector.

Military sources say Indian officials had provided Pakistan with a list of more than thirty missing Indian army soldiers. Moreover, search teams have been formed to locate and recover the remaining bodies.
