31% indian muslims under poverty:Survey

I thought 75% of Indian muslims are under poverty,But now i learnt that it's only 31%,they are also making progress.

There's a long way to go to end this poverty...

What is the point of this thread?......Poverty is a serious phenomena in india.....and the muslims in india are also no special case.....they have the same % of people below poverty like of other religions..

Three out of every 10 Muslims lived below the poverty line and earned less than Rs 550 a month in 2004-05, the survey revealed. Even among the poor, urban Muslims were better off compared to those in villages, who survived on Rs 338 a month during the year under review, NCAER said last week. app

Poverty is a social phenomenon, my dear religion-obsessed neighbour. There are poor from all religions and this is simply a way for so-called appeasement of specific community. Poverty is a social economic phenomenon in which people of all faiths regardless of what they believe or not are facing.

Although a little old (2006) but still brilliantly lit and relevant about Muslims of India. Particularly for those who want to have shut eyes to FACTS and BIG open mouth for PROPAGANDA about Muslims well-bieng in INDIA.

Then this question is often asked among muslims of India.

So... this is the thanks you give your motherland and those Hindus who took accepted you as their brothers huh? You want to play the religion card here and make them look bad. Remember one thing man; Muslims will not find any non-Muslim country more merciful, liberal and friendly than India on this planet.

Being an Indian and living in our conditions, you mock at your own people for now giving you sufficient attention. You cannot get a more freer country than India in terms of faith and that is my challenge to you as an Indian and as a Bhutanese.

The bolded part here makes me ashamed to even call you my fellow Indian. Hindu majority who after 800 of Islamic rule accept you without any condition as a citizen of the country as an equal, you want to play the game of religion with them. And then you say why is your community being set aloof. Because of below-the-belt-self-victimization that you and people who think like you do.

Here in the Hindu-majority India, your religion's call of no God but Allah is allowed as freely as a priest conduct prayers in a temple or a monk conducting prayer in a Pagoda. Here you are allowed to wear the Arabic abaya/Burqa which is not even a part of Indian subcontinent just in the name of faith. Here you get to vote as an equal and decide the government. Just as any others do.

All this after what all the so-called Western countries are putting restrictions on even your type of dressings. This is the thanks you give to your fellow Indians and Hindu community.

If you feel that Muslims are receiving nothing but scorn and hatred from Dhammic community, then name me ONE just one Muslim country that treats non-Muslim community on par at national, social and ideological level the way our Hindu brothers treat all other non-Muslims equally. Name me that one country with considerable proof that allows this. Islamic countries don't even allow Muslims to convert to another faith. Does our majority do that? No. Instead, it accepts all.

Then what right have you to tarnish their image with this religion based line for something like poverty which affects all equally?

Till today, as a Buddhist I was called a technical minority; but after the comment you made to put the same people into darkness who never considered you separate from themselves, I am ashamed to call myself a minority even in political terms.

Name me that one country with considerable proof that allows this. Islamic countries don't even allow Muslims to convert to another faith. Does our majority do that? No. Instead, it accepts all.

Easy way to put the blame on others. So is Turkey. Considering what Erdogan is upto there, I don't see any scorn from you guys over that.

We are secular; not pseudo-secular.

Secular means separating state civil governance from religion. It doesn't mean letting one community getting over pampered.

India doesn't have Bhagwad Gita as its book of law, so there goes your argument about "secularism".

Know the meaning properly before throwing flimsy arguments.
