1981 Indian Airline Hijacking

On Wednesday, September 30th, 1981, An Indian Airlines Boeing 737 plane carrying 111 passengers and a crew of six was hijacked by five knife-wielding Sikh terrorists who advocated of a separate Sikh homeland called Khalistan. They forced the pilot to fly to Lahore Pakistan. They released all but 45 passengers and demanded the release of their comrades back home while they refused to negotiate further.

As the negotiations fell through, the SSG’s counterterrorism specialist company 'Musa' (Named after the Prophet Moses) which was already on standby stormed the aircraft. Using a technique earlier used by the 4th Baloch regiment in an early hijacking response operation, they clandestinely infiltrated into the aircraft disguised as the ‘cleaning crew’. In a flawless climax the Musa operators after a brief fight pinned down and arrested all five terrorists, while all 45 remaining passengers exited unharmed. The Indian cabinet commended Pakistan for its response to the hijacking crisis.

we Pakistani rescued some indian sailors as well- how ungrateful they are-
This is a nice thread. Lets not derail it by indulging in mud slinging again, Jon bhai. :fie:

FYI, We have rescued Pakistanis as well. Last year, Al-Husaini boat was rescued off Lakshadweep island containing 13 Iranians and 3 Pakistanis by our coast guard.
