30,000 troops withdrawn from Kashmir: Antony

illegal occupation is never welcomed in the world.

 for india's move on this, now the next step should be withdraw all its troops from Kashmir and hand over all illegally occupied land to Pak.

Yes you are right in first line "illegal occupation is never welcomed in the world" :yahoo:

Learn something from India, Please Free Tibet and East Turkmenistan (Uighur Muslims) from your brutal occupation.:tdown:

Good gesture by India government, goes to show troops are there only because of terrorist.

My Indian friends stop feeding trolls.

could you please stick on the topic of this thread? this is the last warning, I would report any further abusive or off topic posts.

now back to the topic of this thread, india withdraw troops from the area clearly shows india can no longer afford to have multiple front lines, you simply can't confront both Pakistan and China while also fighting Maoist at home.

again, this is another failure of the regime in new delhi.

Its a matter on howyou look at it, you see glass as half empty we see it half full. The reduction in troops is the direct result of imporvment in the security situation, it will be a good PR excersie for the Army, because they are being held responsible for what ever problems that is happening in kashmir, lesser the troops more merrier.

It would also increase the quality of life of kashmiris, without the army breathing down their neck in every nook and corner.

Are you done counting sire? I was watching a documentary by Perveez Hoodhboy on Kashmir. It gives some insight into the problem. Yes I would say that the video may or maynot seemed biased depending on one's experiences and knowledge of Kashmir but definitely there were some startling truths revealed. The worst part of the documentary was when an Indian activist talks about some changes in the History books and also when the pakistani counterpart tells that how education in Pakistan has become a way of indocrtrination and esp when the guy reads a particular phrase in a 8th class textbook which says that " Hindus can't be trusted!!"Dont know if it is relevant or not but posting some of it here:

One of the best documentaries I have seen in a long time........

Coming back to the question he asks I have no answer but with each passing day we are pushing the people to a point of no return. As positions on both side of the border get more stiff and colored in religion and fundamentalism.

History is witness to the fact that any talks or move to make peace is valid till a new general of Pakistan decides to go rouge. Kashmir is just a starter the real aim is for red fort in Delhi so any act of talks for peace is seen as a sign of weakness by the Pakistani side.

Pakistani army has indoctrinated its masses over the period of years and will take another twenty or so years if the masses have to be brought back to normal sane self. This will be a crucial period as Pakistani army owns the country the stakes are very high in terms of power, position and economics. They will keep the Kashmir pot & other issues simmering so that they can create a fear scenario to run the country.

A strong civilian government rule supported by all world powers over a sustained period may be able to demilitarize the political and bureaucratic system and reform the madarsa & jihad culture. This can happen only if Pakistan has to have a vibrant economy. This is a tall order but the most positive one given the scenario as it is today.

We should be ready to take few blows on our chin as we have been doing in case of Kargil, parliament attack and Mumbai carnage during this reform period. This is sad and I hate to say but there are no other options. This situation we find ourselves to day is because of the soft leaders we had over the period of time. As we have only to lose in any conflict, we have to be proactive and nip any adventure at the bud for this we must invest heavily in intelligence globally.

We can go to war (as most of the right wing followers will say here in India) and I have no doubt what will be the outcome but at what cost. We will not be able to nuke all Pakistanis out of this world even if we do that what next we will be dealing with the same misguided elements on a different front so the fight is not with a nation or its people it’s with an ideology.

Pakistanis at large have started to realise this and fundamentalism is a sword that cuts bothways. The world is making Pakistan do just that and we must help the world and Pakistan to achieve that self reliance and become a modern and peace full Islamic state. While all this happens we must ensure our fundamental forces are in check and no provocation is taken as bait. We will have to network with all leading world intelligence like never before. It is in China’s interest to not let Pakistan settle down as it understands an unstable Pakistan will keep India occupied in terms of time, people and resources.

It sounds scary but it’s the fact of our geography and poor decisions made by us in the past. We can't choose or neighbors....can us. Our generation of Indians and Pakistanis can play a big role in making this happen.

Troops haven’t been withdrawn from Jammu & Kashmir: Mirwaiz

Chairman of moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, today claimed that troops had not been removed from Jammu and Kashmir as stated by Defence Minister A.K .Antony.

He termed the statement of the defence minister about troops withdrawal as “mere announcement“.

“When were the troops withdrawn? Who saw them leaving Jammu and Kashmir. It is mere announcement,” Mr. Mirwaiz said addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid in old city.

“Military camps are intact and full of army personnel.

Mere announcement (about withdrawal of troops) cannot lure Kashmiris,” he added.

“The government makes promises but never fulfils them.

There are more than five-lakh army personnel in Kashmir and no step is being taken to remove them,” Mr. Mirwaiz alleged.

Earlier, Mr. Antony said two army divisions comprising 30,000 men have been withdrawn from Jammu and Kashmir following improvement in the situation in the state.

If anyone is interested in discussing the topic than here is a different view from separatists...

@Shchinese...
Please leave poor and low IQ Indians happy atleast on some threads...I know we are no match to chinese by any stretch of imagination and your 100,000 Army can easily capture Delhi(in fact whole of India) but for now lets discuss about the 30,000 withdrawal before your army liberate Kashmir from India or our poor IQ leaders just leave the illegal occupation and hand over Kashmir to Pakistan

We only need to take out the troops that are in the cities based on the threat level, if it continues to be like it is now, I will see more of such moves.

We will have troops at the border for sure and I think 300000 will be on that kind of duty so the number really is 170000 and will be happy to see it go zero.

I feel anyone who is distorting history is a sick man, nothing could be more harmful then this. India Pakistan is a very good example and both sides share the blame.

You need to kill more than 1 billion people to capture Delhi and hold on to it..

back to the topic its a nice move by Indian government prior to the talks with the separatists..It will surely be a confidence building measure
