3 new world-class warships commissioned together, shoring up ‘nuke retaliation, S.China Sea security, island seizing’

If the Chinese claims are disturbing you than yes the chinese are doing something right.

What is observable in the region is many countries seeking the US for balancing against China. China is doing something wrong if it can't do better than the US in achieving degree of trust from surrounding countries. Surrounding countries don't want a dominant US nor do they want a China-US competition in their region. But they also don't trust China so they seek the US to balance China. That's why China should drop the 9 dash line.
that's not how a leader works.

here's how leadership works: destroy their cities, force their surrender, occupy their land, rewrite their laws and destroy their dignity so badly that even their nationalists have no imagination beyond how to serve you better.

Does that sound familiar? Happened in Japan.

That's the "might makes right" approach. But people here are not debating in that realm because the "might makes right" does not win rhetorical arguments seekng to get volunteerily based willful favoritism.

If China wants to stand up to the west, then they should do so that does not come the expense of its neighbors. China should drop yhe 9 dash line, drop the claim on Taiwan, and drop the claim on the Senkaku islands. If China was supportive of gains for all its neighbors in the region, then the US would be less needed by regional countries.

Forget Diaoyu Islands, you better drop the Ryukyu Kingdom Islands. China will make sure in the future that the Ryukyu Kingdom is independent.

That's just a vaporware argument that attempts to mask that PRC expansion comes at the expense of its neighbors. Had the PRC taken a fair posture towards neighbor countries, then those countries wouldn't seek the US to balance China. Japan also wouldn't have had the domestic political capital to reinterprete its constitution.
IMO, I don't think what you called PRC expansion is bad for Japan at all. In a scenario if China are strong enough to force U.S influence out of East Asia. Japan will become a full sovereign State without any foreign troops base on your soils. China, Japan, Korean combine will out match or at least even match to the West economically and in military force.
