VCheng was my original sign-on on PDF. I changed it to SAH in honor of my good old friend murdered in Lahore along with his son by killers that remain at large to this day. I reverted back to the original member ID after a period of mourning.

How have you been?

On topic, there have been many more instances of gun violence in USA since the incident in this thread. @Dubious has many great ideas and advice for the dumb Murrikans to reduce them.

For starters, I am from NJ. Keep believing that then.

Welcome back!

PDF is sinking as the representative microcosm of the country itself, and just as predictably. That is all I can say. :D

On topic, what are your views on gun control? Can us dumb Murrikans be trusted with such lethal tools?

.
@VCheng I think this explains it!!! o_O

Funny how you "claim" a Pakistani Student killed in China as "Domestic" incident and play it down, and then you keep talking about "Gun Crime" in the US like it is end of the world.

This is domestic crime, you expect a country to have murder and assault anywhere. Not just in US, so what and why would you surprise when there is a murder committed in the US?

You can buy guns if you are a tourist. You can get a temporary license for specific purpose in some state, or you can always go for an unregistered piece.

When they talk about China problem, it is pollution
When they talk about India problem, it is rape
When they talk about the US problem, it will be murder and gun-related crime.

That does not always mean the ration of rape case per population in India is world's highest, or China pollution is the world's worst. But you know what I mean.

Still, what's a gun related crime have to do with world issue? Did US shooting related incident have affect you in any way, shape or form?

I don't go around and try to talk to people about who have been killed in China or Pakistan everyday, why you would go talk about something very much domestic in nature? Especially when the poster is not an American?

Been there once in Dubai. Not much, but good enough you know what I mean. The Russians and Ukrainians... Oh MY GOD!!! It's hard to imagine I was in the Middle East until I saw it in the morning after nursing a hangover... that it's a sand box. :cheesy:

Amen brother.

Still remembering the first time I set foot in Iraq, you felt the heat and wind kick up when you leave the aircraft. Then you know you are in the Middle East, then you are sure when you get shit shot at you.

Chicago(or certain areas of it) are known for gun violence. Overall there is too much gun violence in America and it's a culture related thing. This kind of thing isn't normal in other cultures. But, every culture has their problems too. In Asia and Middle east you have a radicalism problem which leads to violence. Both require some kind of culture/way of thinking reform to rid of.

In Palestine everyone or every family has a gun. But, they will never have a mass shooting by one of their own people targeting their own people. That's not normal in the culture and will destroy a family's reputation if it happens. It's not considered common sense and not considered something you should resort to. But, in Palestine they don't have taboo regarding opening up about your personal problems. Especially since it is a humanitarian mess over there, everybody will open up to each other about their struggles and problems in a funny and playful way.

In America people are too mean towards each other or too distant from each other. Unless they are your close group of friends. Lots of people in America don't have friends. Or have friends but don't have family or not close to their family. So they end up growing up with their own thoughts, and overall it's just not a healthy culture from a social standpoint. Strangers aren't friendly to each other and people are too scared of each other.

In the Middle East strangers are like what family is to Americans. As an example. So ultimately it's culture of distrust/distance among common people that is causing all this mess. Assuming it's not gang related, but that is a culture problem too.

...
...

To expand on that, nobody is going to shoot up a public place if they are attached that place or close to the people in it. Mass shooters shoot up public places and feel no remorse because they have no connection to the society they live in. Again, it is a culture problem. But, it's off limits to discuss that is a culture problem, because people don't want to admit that. Also OP, that title wasn't necessary. You can argue that Americans rush to declare a shooting from a Muslim American or what not as terrorism, when really it is same problem other mass shooters suffer from and definitely includes mental health as one of them. That is justified. But, I wouldn't bring up race into it.

It's certainly is wrong, as I remember a gay Muslim shot up a bar in Florida and people considered it terrorism instead of him being your typical mass shooter.
