2nd Afghan General to be killed this week ? [possibly involved in border clash]

look at your internal conflicts first, from 1975 you all killing your own people, your own nation, you allowed other forces to interfere in your country, and you blaming Pakistan for all that.

first of all make your self capable enough , and learn how a country will be run, and dont forgot ISIS also, which is heavy backed by US, and they protecting US interests in the Region.

Do not insult the dead soldier.

There should be zero tolerance of disrespect from fallen servicemen, it is pathetic to see grown ups throwing insults. PDF is fast becoming a hub for trolls. Serious moderation needed if you want people from outside of Pakistan who disagree with your policies to comment and contribute, otherwise all you will see is a bunch of teenagers throwing insults and serious members losing interest.

The death should not be celebrated for either of enemy or anyone else

Well easier said than done here in PDF nowadays, as it fast becoming a place for low life scum who are celebrating death of servicemen.

He was a police officer not an army officer. By the way why they have general in police.

Afghan Police are more modeled as a paramilitary unit, considering the unconventional warfare they're embattled in, the consistency in the ranking helps internally with cooperation between the Army and Police.

do you remember this ?

**** army chopper gunned down was on supply mission to taliban ?

95% of the tweets on this page reference Pakistan, talk about obsession :flame:

also:

apparently Rangers are oppressing pashtuns in Punjab, and those pictures look pretty incriminating.

Oh right, they were taken YEARS AGO, in different situations, bad situations, but nowhere near relevant to what is happening now.

How these Afghans can so blatantly put out this kind of lazy propaganda is just baffling for me, and the Indians and Afghans on that page just lap it up like its the word of God.

And even after this a certain afgan above has the audacity to call us low life troll and scum. Idiot.

There should be a policy for 'Not insulting dead people', why single out soldiers? Just because they wear uniform and irrespective of how grave their crimes are just throw in the lamest excuse of all time "They were following orders". To all the proponents of this idiocy: Next time a soldier wanna kill you & no matter wherever he is from, you better not resist because after all he is just following orders . Gosh these "politically correct" internet fads have everything but SENSE.

Lo Afghan generals ki ye halat hai. Aam jawano ka kya halat ho gi?

Yes apparently the count seems to be 4 from what I hear -- the Taliban seem to be increasingly targeting the Afghan elite. Why the change in tactics?

The systematic target killing of the Afghan elite is a smart move because it demoralizes the enemy. These men had experience and leadership qualities that gave the Taliban a tough time, however with them out of the way now they can attack their weakened enemy. A great example is General Stonewall Jackson. When he died the Confederate that losing ground to the Union, and no matter how many Generals came, they could replace Jackson's quality. This was proven in the Battle of Gettysburg. If Jackson was alive things would have been different, so in this case, the Taliban are doing the right thing before launching a full-scale attack on the province.

really Jackson was a great general but I think the South had the upper hand vis-a-vis Generals -- the South lost because the North had more money, and deep industrial base is what I understand.

Interesting comment -- I think there are many lessons for Afghans and Pakistanis in the American Civil war. The US today is secure, prosperous because Lincon (and the North) decided to keep a united country and not settle for a truncated North.

I've been meaning to study the Civil war in depth -- thought about bidding Afghanistan farewell and focusing on the Civil War.

The South did lose because the Union had much deeper pockets, the industrial base stronger, however, the conscription of black soldiers into the Union brought a big change to the field. Had General Stonewall Jackson lived the battle of Gettysburg which ultimately changed the tide of the civil war would have been different. General Jackson's assessment of the situation would have been much better than General Picketts at Gettysburg and he was far more disciplined. He was prone to change tactics that suited the environment of the battle.

We can never unify with Afghanistan if the present government exists in Kabul. The only region which can merge with Pakistan is the Pashtun areas. However, we have enough resources in FATA to become a commodity powerhouse in the future. There are reserves of gold, copper, iron, oil and gas much bigger than Balochistan.
