$278m AWACS deal struck with China

very interesting observation. can u please expand on this!
Sir it time for China to play the role in this region plus China is working hard to create secured economic life line through Pakistan. Not only deployment of AWAC ,another recent deployment of Chinese army near border of India and then movement of Indian SU30 around Pak-China border is worry for both countries ,Because SU30 not only bomber but also has powerful radar,to keep observing constant development in Kashmir and surrounds .This deployment of Chinese AWAC was imminent and was expected and near future will be more deployment of Chinese AWAC in this region . Its no doubt mighty China is flexing its military power inside the border of Pakistan.
Few years back when India-Pak has standoff and Musharraf went to Bangladesh. People didn't observe that Chinese govt offer him plane to travel Bangladesh. Providing Chinese plane was big warning shot for India for any misadventure against Pakist

geart input!

There will be a lot of input from the Pakistani side. The Chinese AWACS will be custom built as per PAF requirements. Also, expertise from the ERIEYE radar system will be implemented which will make the AWACS more effective. To sum it up, excellent deal. The Chinese AWACS will be very close quality wise to their Western counterparts.

How does KJ2000 compare with Phalcon or SAAB Eyrie eye or sentry Awacs systems?

Sir,

Pakistan and China aready share satellite intel thru a chinese remote sensing military sat, we have had access to Chinese military infrastructure for quite some time and the cooperation is expanding. There's a large number of Pak military officers, engineers and scientists stationed in Chinese military facilities. For obvious reason I can't share sensitive info here, but will post something in the TT Section regarding the Pakistani team stantioned in Chngdu soon. AWACS would be a good addition for both Pakistan and China in sharing intel.

One may not have noticed that the SAAB was ordered prior to creating a JV with China for local development of AWACS. By the time we have a prototype meeting PAF ASR we will already be flying the Erieye. ;)
Our input this time will not be restricted to financial injection, we'll certainly integrate the know-how we gain from the Erieye into our locally developped and built AEWACS.

Imho once we get these birds we'll be able to induct them in larger number, i.e. 8-12 for PAF and tranfer the 5 Erieyes to PN. :coffee:

Kharian Beast was telling me on the US Hummingbird UAV thread that the PAF's AWAC's would soon show up and that would be the end of our drones over FATA. From the above info, it sounds like our drones are safe for at least five more years from any PAF AWAC's. I sincerely hope that our drones aren't still needed over FATA for THAT long. Please!

(P.S. sorry this is somewhat "off thread".)
Kind of a trend now with your posts,

but you do know theres a previous order in place for the Erieye...
