LTTE ideology is not based on Hinduism. They do not claim to be fighting on the behalf of Hinduism, nor do they draw inspiration from Hindu sacred texts. Infact, one of their most prominent leaders is a Christian.
Its a purely nationalist movement, something along the lines of what you have in Balochistan.
Baloch nationalists are against the Taliban, because they do not identify with the Jehadi ideology.

Is it popular??

xx xx2 500 : militants

so roughly for 14 000 people there is one "freedom fighter", so is it a popular movement, as the Pakistani propaganda would like us to believe?

*the number 2500 includes armed/surrendered/cease-fire/sympathizers and all. Actual number of active militants is something around 500 but I exaggerated it to make a 'fair' comparison.


When compared to other states Assam has the highest number of active terrorists groups/members , the numbers for other states are very low when compared to Assam so I chose it as a subject.
