26 Stores are Leaving New Yok City… Because of Theft

.
This is the best news ever.
This will make these old city politicians actually do something.

I think more should close...then people will start crying about "food deserts"...and of course scratching their heads like stupid idiots as to "why?"

They should have people heavily shoplift in areas where the Mayor lives.

NEW Flagship & Concept Stores in NYC 2023

As retailers and brands returned to New York City, many stores opened, reopened, and remodeled. In 2023, the trend for concept stores is the digital transformation of brick-and-mortar stores.

New stores in NYC include:

Bally (58 Gansevoort St. Meatpacking District). A new concept store for the Switzerland-based retailer. The flagship showcases men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes, and leather goods to serve as a multifunctional space dedicated to commerce and entertainment.

Century 21 NY (C22 Cortlandt St. Lower Manhattan): The off-price department store reopened its New York City flagship, adding more lighting and bigger fitting rooms focusing on designer fashions, accessories, fragrances, and footwear.

Courrèges’ (104 Grand St, Soho). A futuristic store with an all-white design and mirrors that Vogue Magazine declared the “coolest store in Soho.”

Fashionphile Showroom (601 W 26th St, Chelsea). An insider looks at the luxury reseller with a 60,000-square-foot authentication center and showroom. Consumers can buy direct products such as the world’s most extensive collection of Hermès Birkin bags.

Mango (711 Fifth Avenue). Mango’s flagship store promotes sustainability with energy-efficient lighting and temperature control. There is a designated donation spot. Mango created a collection of NFT artworks for Spanish artists Miró, Tàpies, and Barceló.

Mulberry (620 Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center). The British designer brand promotes sustainability with the Mulberry Exchange marketplace. You’ll find vintage bags. And you can personalize your scarves and blankets with an on-site monogramming machine.

Penn Station (34th St & 7th Ave): New York landlord Vornado bets $1 billion that more commuters will return. Penn 1 & Moynihan Train Hall provides world-class passenger amenities and a range of shopping and dining options around Penn Station.

Petco (44 Union Square): Petco’s new 25,000 square-foot flagship combines the best of Petco’s physical and digital offerings, including a stylish grooming salon, full-service veterinary hospital, JustFoodForDogs kitchen, curated merchandise assortment, and more for a complete pet care experience.

Salvatore Ferragamo (63 Greene Street, SoHo). The Italian brand Ferragamo opened a tech-savvy store in Soho to engage a younger audience. You’ll find a hologram sneakers station to personalize and create designs on the spot. Most impressive, you are invited into a multisensory booth for an immersive experience to design your NFT token.

SKIMS: Store-Within-a-Store in Sakes Five Avenue (611 5th Ave). Launched as a Direct-to-Consumer underwear and shapewear brand by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede, Skims built a consumer audience online and with upscale retail partnerships.

TAG Heuer (645 5th Ave): The flagship store for luxury Swiss watches benefited from the Formula 1 $10,000-plus Monaco Chronograph and actor Ryan Gosling wearing one of its pink-faced watches to promote the “Barbie” film.

Tiffany’s (610 5th Ave). LVMH Unveils Tiffany’s Renovated Fifth Avenue Flagship, which is the luxury giant’s most expensive single-brand store ever built.

Timberland (550 Broadway, SoHo): The store features The Shed, a customization space where customers who sign up for Timberland’s newly launched membership program can have their shoes or clothing personalized.

Wilson Sporting Goods (10 Columbus Circle). Wilson embedded the “try before you buy” attitude in the store so that you could rent products for a minimal fee. The brand smartly includes product testing concepts with a golf simulator and customized gloves.

NYC Store Openings Fall 2023

November 7th, 2023

New York City’s retail landscape is expanding in fall 2023 as top brands open their doors to offer merchandise and create unique and immersive shopping experiences.
Coming tomorrow, Valentino’s Madison Avenue flagship will be open to the public while Swarovski‘s giant Fifth Avenue masterpiece will be opening any time this week, which we will be covering separately – stay tuned.
We explore these new retail destinations including the first-ever Le Père flagship and the revitalized Giorgio Armani boutique at Bergdorf Goodman. The streetwear label, Paper Planes, owned by Jay Z’s Roc Nation has recently opened its first permanent storefront.

1. Valentino Opens Flagship on Madison Avenue

Valentino has recently revealed its brand-new flagship store located at 654 Madison Avenue, taking the place of the former Calvin Klein flagship. This 12,292 square-foot store will open its doors to the public tomorrow, on November 8th. The store has three levels of retail space, including the basement, ground floor, a mezzanine, and a second floor.

2. Swarovski to Open Fifth Ave Flagship Soon

Swarovski is set to unveil its 14,000 square foot flagship store this month, located at 680 Fifth Avenue on the corner of 54th Street. This remarkable store features an expansive two-story, 150-foot wraparound facade that spans nearly an entire city block. This marks Swarovski’s eighth location in New York, and we will provide an update on the grand opening as soon as the brand opens its doors.

3. Le Père Opened Its First Flagship in Lower East Side

In early October, Le Père opened its first flagship store in the Lower East Side, located at 90 Orchard Street. Launched a year and a half ago by Ryan Wright, the brand recognized the importance of connecting with customers directly and allowing them to experience the product in person, making it the perfect moment to establish a physical presence. The store is 1,000 square feet and offers a range of streetwear styles.

4. Palm Angels Opens in SoHo

Palm Angeles unveiled its latest retail location in SoHo, located at 70 Greene Street, on October 16th. This two-story, 2,300 square-foot store marks the third brick-and-mortar for the Milan-based streetwear brand in the United States. The store’s interior, crafted by the design firm Gilles & Boissier, includes a blend of minimalism and inviting warmth, featuring marble finishes and beautiful overhead lights. In anticipation of the downtown store’s grand opening, the brand also showcased its presence by taking over the windows at Saks Fifth Avenue.

5. Giorgio Armani Re Opens at Bergdorf Goodman

On October 19th, Giorgio Armani reopened its boutique in Bergdorf Goodman. The company hosted a private cocktail party hosted by model and actress Lauren Hutton and actress and singer Dianna Agron to celebrate the unveiling. The boutique used to be located on the fourth floor but now the revamped store is located on the second floor and features women’s ready-to-wear collections, accessories, and a selection of vintage garments.

6. Paper Planes Opened First Permanent Storefront

During the first week of October, the streetwear brand Paper Planes, owned by Jay Z’s Roc Nation, celebrated the grand opening of its first permanent store in the SoHo neighborhood, located at 252 Lafayette Street. This marks a significant milestone for the brand after its journey of pop-up appearances across the United States. Within the store, customers can explore a selection of streetwear attire, ranging from cozy hoodies to stylish hats.

The new flagship store of the Italian luxury fashion house has come to Soho in July. The boutique's geometric and sleek interior features exclusive items from a new Emporio Armani SOHO collection, only sold at the 134 Spring Street location. Mr. Armani also shot the global advertising campaign for Emporio Armani in New York City, paying homage to the iconic EA Magazine that has captured the spirit of the brand since the 80s. The boutique itself also celebrates the style of Armani, featuring formalwear like dresses and tailored suits to casual attire in the brand's distinctive knitted and denim designs. Add this polished boutique to your NYC shopping bucket list.

This is not your mother's Abercrombie, nor the one you remember from your days at the local mall. The new Abercrombie & Fitch store at 668 Fifth Avenue is a size-inclusive celebration of the brand's heritage, with elegant details that invite the customer in for an immersive shopping experience.

Gucci has opened a new Manhattan store located in one of the city's most energetic areas: the Meatpacking District. Set on the corner of W 14 Street and 9th Avenue, the two-level boutique is interiorly designed with inspirations referenced from Florence and New York. Standout design concepts include painted cement flooring, a curved staircase, mirrored surfaces, bold colors, and vintage mid-century furniture. The decor also supports Gucci's commitment to sustainability as second-hand pieces and sustainably-made materials are incorporated throughout the space.

Khaite's first standalone store had its official unveiling as the setting for the brand's Fall/Winter 2023 runway show. The flagship stands on 165 Mercer Street in SoHo and perfectly encapsulates Khaite's defining elements with its darker mood and transformative edges.
"The design was conceived in terms of material—choosing the right materials and working with them in the right way to satisfy the programmatic requirements," said Griffen Frazen in the press release, architect and husband to Khaite's creative director Catherine Holstein. "We leaned into elemental qualities like natural light, preserving the scale and openness while creating intimate spaces."

On Feb. 17, Glossier opened its new SoHo store. Located on 72 Spring Street, the grand and elegant space serves to provide its customers with an interactive experience, including communal product testing areas, a gift shop, a Selfie room, and the Glossier You Lounge. The well-thought-out space is interiorly designed with nuanced inspirations from New York, as depicted by the concrete floors representative of an industrial edge matched with plush couches to add a softer and more residential feel.
Alaïa

Alaïa returned to the city with the opening of its first New York store since 1991. The location at 149 Mercer Street is just steps away from the Maison’s original boutique. According to Creative Director Pieter Mulier, New York is a “feeding ground for creativity.” Given the late Azzedine Alaïa’s long-standing artistic roots, coming back to SoHo was a natural next step. The thoughtfully curated space displays an assortment of artwork and furniture by Donald Judd, Mike Kelly, Jonathan Horowitz, and Robert Rauschenberg. Sleek and sophisticated, Alaïa’s New York store could likely double as an art gallery.

The Italian fashion house is bringing opulence to the Upper East Side with the debut of its new Madison Avenue boutique. The spacious interior is as ornate as we could expect from a Versace establishment: marble, silk, and gold accents complement floors featuring the house's signature Barocco prints and Greca designs. Visit the stately boutique at 747 Madison Avenue.
SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker relocated her flagship boutique to West Village. Formerly on West 54th Street, this downtown move is a fitting update given the recent reboot of Parker’s hit show, Sex and the City. The '70s-inspired space features an assortment of Parker’s Italian-made shoes, in addition to several SJP product varieties. Located in the heart of the action, the 500-square-foot boutique sits right at the corner of Bleecker and Perry Street.
Cult Gaia
Cult Gaia opened their first New York flagship location at 60 Wooster Street on February 8, 2023. After achieving Instagram virality in 2016 with the Ark bag, Cult Gaia has evolved into a full-fledged lifestyle brand. The space, much like Cult Gaia's pieces, is a work of art. Given the sculptural quality of the brand’s offerings, their new flagship store is informed by the grand colonnades of ancient temples. In each of the location's three distinct rooms, Cult Gaia’s signature standout pieces are offset by a relaxing color palette of earthy limestone and plaster. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city by retreating into Cult Gaia’s SoHo oasis.

Distrust is mutual. Why should anyone trust the media of a theocratic elitist dictatorship? Would they really tell the truth?

The United States shot itself in the foot. This is a consequence of too many immigrants, refugees and the rise of leftism.

They should learn from North Korea and some other authoritarian countries in this case.

US is a narcissistic, dehumanized, Jew controlled failed state. It is the only "country" in OECD with a declining lifespan, worse than even the least developed countries in Africa at 73 years for males. There is massive poverty, homelessness and crime. Even Cuba which is under illegal embargo for over 60 years now has a much better universal health care system. This recent study is from an extreme right-wing "think tank".

According to the latest ACS data, nearly 41 million people in the United States lived below the poverty line in 2022. That is nearly 1.5 million more people than in 2019, before the pandemic struck (Figure 1).11 Oct 2023

The 2024 election will be an interesting event in the US history.

Because both side cannot afford to lose the election as it will get purged by the winning political opponent.
