And finally, Shaheed was not originally a Hindi word; it is an Urdu word at best, it has no connections to any Sanskrit root.

I did not talk of the Origin of a Word

As I Said ; Hindi has ASSIMILATED many many words
and SHAHEED is one of them

Origins dont matter ; There is NO PATENT on a Word or on a language

I don't know what you are and I really don't care. If you hadn't noticed the negative rating given to the original post, you are beneath contempt.
.

I can see the current version of post and that too ask for denying colonel martyrhood.

People can go for semantics but we all know how shaheed word is used now and these pakistani used for their soldiers as well even if that soldier die for fulfilling US wish and their hegemony in Afghanistan. Its not about semantics but the motive, which is still intact in his post - that is denying respect to colonel.

Beneath contempt is your thinking.

Tbh i dont see you guys using word shaheed word for people who died before. .. Let say centuries ago- mahabharta?

People do change, few chose to keep living in stone ages.

Languages CHANGE in the course of time
New words enter the vocabulory ; many words are discarded

for example The PURE Hindi word for Heart is HRIDAY ; But people say DIL

so some how change is related to your adopted word "shaheed" ?- quite a forcible change i must say-

. .
yes thats correct in some sense. That word Martyr was also used for the slain Crusades soldiers of Europe by the Pope if im not wrong.

It was originally specific to the non-violent preachers who were brutally murdered by the Roman State. It was extended to soldiers by the Popes after they brought in the completely non-Christian concept of the Crusades, which was a concoction of the mediaeval papacy. Nothing to do with the teachings of Christ.

My First request was made very politely

You only chose to get angry

I was not angry then, I am not angry now. I am asking you how you thought to ask; as a demand or as a polite request for clarification.

Nah, that was adopted very well just like pakistanis singing bollywood hindi songs and watching Indian saas bahu, all forced changes created a new country and population.

Not Urdu; Arabic.
There is no such thing as any core language where urdu is drives from. Its basically a mixture of many languages. Most being Arabic, Turkish, Farsi even Kurdish etc etc along with the native South Asian languages which includes the hinduic languages like sanskrit.

For example i can understand 5-10% of sentence if two people r talking in turkish infront of me, since i have been to turkey many times its my own experience. Same way u can pick a few words if yr urdu is good if Kurdish is spoken infront of u, same is for arabic.

This word however comes from Arabic and was mentioned too in my post later on if u have read it fully.

Here is an example. Abt Urdu and Turkish, This song is sung in both languages and u can see the closeness of both languages.

Urdu was basically developed by Mughals to communicate with the natives here if im correct, thats why its a mixture.

Of course as a polite request for clarification

I think you have some more information about Parrikar that has made you so angry

Because the media has NOT published any negative articles about him
other than one Guard of Honour thing

What exactly has Mr Parrikar done that you call him a bloody turd

Is it because of OROP ; a Guard of honour or what else

.
I dont agree with the policies of the army and political entity he was fighting for, but as a soldier who died defending something he believed in, I will say RIP soldier.

@Joe Shearer

Be happy now. A thread meant for paying respect to a "martyred" soldier has been turned into a dialect/semantic thread. Troll is now behaving like how serious was he when he asked the colonel not to be called martyr.

More power to you.

On Topic: May the "martyred" colonel rest in peace and death to all terrorist.

That is the case because it has many HINDI words

And we can easily understand your TV discussions on MODI and INDIA :-)

They sound exactly like HINDI

I never knew by watching bollywood or indian saas bahu we could claim it as ours- intriguing -

@MaarKhoor

Sir,

Please do take it as an overwrought response. I am sure that once he calms down, he will not say things like this. I will not apologise on his behalf, as he is a mature, grown individual, but I will say that I regret that it was said.

I'm pretty sure that I'd want those who killed to to dispatched to their makers real soon.
