I am not so sure if India's population will reach 1.75 Billion. We are already on a slow growth rate and the southern states are already under a fertility rate of 1.7, meaning they are going to have a population loss near future. Even UP, Bihar has showed declining trend. I hope we stabilise around 1.5 Billion and start decreasing after that.

I dont think that is something to be proud off. It is always the poor that have the most children. People need to have children according to their means.

A 1 Child policy for 15 years would be a welcomed trend

The reason why we inherited over population is due to uneven divide of India/Pakistan

I firmly believe that Pakistan needs to become a fully militarised nation like Israel. And national service needs to be made compulsory for all Pakistani males between the ages of 19 and 21 years old.

Actually is should policy for 15-18 years specially molvi folks who seem to have alot of barket in their harkat , lot of tax avoidance

The ratio should be driven by Food production , Rising cost of food and services

Sometimes taking a page out of another's book is the best solution. India needs
1) to institute a mandatory 1 child policy for those below 50,000 INR per month. Violation of this needs to met with either child services taking possession of the newborn and putting it up for adoption and sterilisation of the parents.
2) To institute mandatory education levels for having children. A 1 child policy below a Bachelors (maybe even Masters) is needed. Above this a max of 2.
3) Sex ed from grade 6.
4) Taxes on more than one child. If you can afford a new one, you very well can pay your government the privilege of providing the social services for it. Although incentives to provide a high level of education to the children can be considered, also the same in case of adoption.
5) To increase support for LGBT rights. India needs their numbers to go up more than ever. Enable LGBT couples to adopt as well.
6) More awareness about contraception. It shouldn't be flipping taboo, it's how we got here in the first place. The majority need info on how to look at sex as not just a tool for creating more unnecessary poop machines.

Population and Man power resource is always an asset and not a liability, in the time of war the nation with the most people will always win as a larger population can be replaced easily without the slowing of the economy and industry for a longer period of time, it only becomes a liability when we fail to use it to it's full potential.

Lets look at this way there are almost 200 million Pakistanis today, imagine that only a measly 2% of the total population become developers, that would be around 4 million developers in total, imagine the billions of dollars of money they would be making through freelance and other software house/factory work each year, Pakistan would literally become the software hub of the world, other nations like Kazakhstan, Australia, European countries, Iran etc which are bigger in land mass than Pakistan but not even a third in population cannot even hope to reach such levels and that's the reason why we have the potential to be a real power house of the world if we put our mind to it.

PS. Let's not spin the overpopulation of Pakistan into some futuristic scenarios. Pakistan is not some Germany or Japan where the 'human capital' is going to be channeled efficiently. Long before any awareness or knowledge or culture develops to tap the human capital, the anarchy and deprivations will likely ruin Pakistan if the population indeed reaches the alarming numbers.
