2013 Elections were largely conducted fairly: JC Report

If you all want to get some insight on what constituted as rigging stated by PTI then click the link below:

WHITE PAPER MASSIVE RIGGING IN GENERAL ELECTIONS IN 2013

Few paras from the Conclusion of this white paper:

PTI's faith in the "independence" of the ECP and the reputation and credibility of the CEC was exposed as being overrated since the ECP failed to assert its independence and to date continues to undermine the credibility of the elections by delaying decisions on petitions, especially relating to demands for thumbprint verifications from NADRA.

In fact, this whole issue of thumbprint verification by NADRA has become mired in controversy because it is being said in various quarters that the ballot papers and special ink which would have made the verification possible has in fact deliberately not been used by the ECP. With no proper clarification coming from the ECP itself but with NADRA stating repeatedly that they have the now-enhanced capacity to verify results effectively, it seems the ECP is admitting it has blundered or deliberately sought not to use the paper and ink required for NADRA verifications.

For the first time in Pakistan the electorate came out in large numbers, including people who never bothered to vote in elections. This has been a major positive game changer for Pakistan in participatory democracy. For instance, in Karachi the courage of the people in not only coming out to vote, but also in defying bullying by entrenched political interests, has lifted the veil of terrorized submission and altered the political dynamics of the city.

However, if the majority of the people who came out to vote for the first time, including youth and Pakistanis living abroad who flew in especially to cast their vote, feel they were robbed oftheir vote, they will not come out again to vote and we will never achieve a robust democratic state with a dynamic people all committed to playing their role in sustaining and furthering democratic norms.

While looking to the future, PTI also strongly feels that electoral reforms are essential including the move towards usage of electronic voting machines and biometric verification of voters, as well as replacement of the FPTP system - which does not reflect the true choice of the people since it requires no clear majority by the winner with a system of Proportional Representation. There are many models around the world to choose from and perhaps the National Assembly Committee on electoral rigging could also look at the issue of electoral reforms.

This White Paper is an effort to get the necessary electoral reforms in place for the future so that rigging becomes impossible and the people do not feel their mandate has been thwarted.

But the decision did not favour the stance of PTI and now the opposition parties wants to de-throne them from National Assembly. They are going to table a resolution on monday to de-seat PTI MNA's.

I certainly hope not! The PTI legislators won, fair and square, and should not lose their mandate because of the stupid hothead like Imran Khan.
Anyway, most democratic govts in the world instinctively want to have some "opposition" in the legislators: Noisy enough to make it sound like a true democratic dispensation, thus providing the "legitimacy" to govern; but toothless enough to not cause premature downfall. With PPP in the 'Muk Mukao' mode, PMLN would be stupid to try to topple PTI govt in KPK and dislodge its MNAs.

Back to the topic: No surprise there. The election results more or less echoed independent pre-poll predictions. Too bad that Pakistan lost tens of billions of Rupees because of Imran Khan's stupid 'Dharnas'.

Watch the clips/statements of Prime Minister Imran Khan after 15 minutes of this video

OMG! It is really interesting between minute 15 and 20!
Imran Khan calling PM Nawaz Sharif: "GeedaR e Azam" (The Prime Jackal).
At minute 20, the PTI guy leaves the debate.

Anyway, moral of the story is: Think before you speak and that applies more to Imran Khan than to any other political leader in Pakistan.

PS. Glad that the PTI guy says that they have "accepted" the results. Live to fight another day.

The burgers don't realize that PML-N has a tonne of genuine voters especially in Punjab due to the amount of work they have done there. Now people say that they don't do work in other provinces, but that leads to the debate on how much authority the federal govt has in provincial matters since they only have provincial authority in Punjab.

Federal Governments job is to take care of Defence (tonne of military acquisitions this year; from submarines to cobras), Foreign Policy ( govt did not get us involved in a mess in Yemen, relations have improved with Afghanistan and USA), Internal Security ( terrorism has dropped drastically, especially in Karachi and FATA ) and Economy.

So the PML-N gets A for Defence, B for Foreign policy, A+ for Internal security, and A for Economy. Now if anyone wants to stick to their own pre-formed bias about Ganja and Punjabi nonsense, then i can only pray for them.

Very well written summary and well said. If anyone wants to challenge these guys, the bar has been raised way above where it used to be for 70 years. And others will have to actually deliver more than these people. Talking and accusations alone won't get anyone anywhere.

People of Pakistan now know, what they should get as being the ordinary citizens of the country and that they have a right to a better life and nicer utilities like the metro and all. So anyone else wanting to make a difference will have to work a lot more than these guys to show a real difference. GOOD for the ordinary people of Pakistan. This is what it needed to be, a PERFORMANCE based democratic system.

Hi,

Not i don't see any of that at all, we only syart to saw the shift after zarb e azb which the current tried its best to delay it further. I only saw chief visitng US, russia and China and working out on something big
Zarb-e-Azb can also achieve only limited results unless sanctuaries in Afghanistan are completely eliminated which also depends largly upon China's ability to bring togather all the stakeholders.

Correctly pointed out. Had PML-N been as bad as PTI people say they are, they would have lost fare and square in Punjab , rigging no rigging. The development agenda and understanding of of PTI is very opeque. PML-N has done two types of investment A)Normal spending which they dont and cant market like PPEF, Danish schooling, IT labs, E-Curriculum and PPTIB. For example, PDMA Punjab was fairly ready to handle flooding and as a result the losses were minimal compared to last time but they dont expect to get any points. They also do marketable investments which attacts voters. And this is the modus operandi whether people like it or not.

They had to because APS was the second biggest moral dent to Pakistani establishment (After GHQ attack). The attack meant that now even the children of those who are supposed to be most protected were also in the same line as the common Pakistani. Had even a single more incident like APS would have occurred, the moral of Armed forces would have almost touched the ground. So army had to act, not only for the country but also for her own future.

HI,

But the job was supposed to be done by Prime minister, right?

I didn't see him anywhere, except for sending sweets and keeping silent on Indian support for terrorism in UN council

Security? How much command does a prime minister in Pakistan is supposed to have on army?
If you would have remembered, the PPP government initiated the inclusion policy on Afghanistan when Army was being continuously blamed for Harboring Haqqanis by the Americans. PPP was the first government which tried to mend ways with Northern Alliance leaders. Had it not been for Raheel Sharif and his efforts, Army would have still Locked horns with afghan government.
Diplomacy is a complex phenomenon. India has rallied a massive diplomatic support after Mumbai attacks. The Indian PM meeting Pakistani counterpart was a diplomatic victory for Pakistan. However, you should keep in mind that India is now the new US partner in South Asia. Had it not been for China,Indians would have succeeded in slamming sanctions on Pakistan. And would they been able to do so all by themselves without the support of US,Russia and the west? Like I have said it before, Pakistan has lost a huge diplomatic ground thanks to the hotheads in the Pakistani establishment,Media and the Bureaucracy. At the moment Pakistan can only bank upon China (That too because of CPEC). Who is allowing and why are the people like Hafiz Saeed being openly allowed to operate despite these people causing us a diplomatic headache? And mind you that China can only help us greatly to a limited extent. For example, a recent attempt by China to shield Pakistan from FATF supervision was Foiled by India and US. If the joint announcement was a success for India -as u put it- Why did she ran away again from further talks. Because Indians knew that Kashmir and all other issues will be in further detailed talks and they don't like it. You shouldn't expect PMs to be doing a fist fight and tit-for-tat in one on one meetings. They are not the ones engaged in real discussions. So unless Pakistan is able to reestablish her diplomatic strength, the options are only limited.

Hi,

It was a good opportunity which PM failed to highlight Indian terrorism at International level, and took a very low approach in accepting itself as such.

Why is the people like red MUllah of LAL Masjid and the name of the one you mentioned is roaming freely?
Dont ask me this Ask the current govt, Its the job of judiciary and the govt to look after stately affairs

Before that If you'd know, PM has already addressed the dipolmats of all major countries in Pakistan. Like I said before, is it necessary to always remain a hothead? And the India was not meeting Pakistan with her own wish, it was on pressure from US....So yes if you want to behave like Zafar Hilali, sure he should have mentioned the Indian terrorism, but what would be differentiation between non-serious India and in that case, non-serious Pakistan.
2-And as if the Lal Masjid (which stands next door to abpara), and hafiz saeed and co are controlled by the civilians in Pakistan....

Hi,

I see PM making fuss about some refreshment and hence that is why the plane was delayed. Thanks to the COAS, which keeps and forces PM to stay vigilant. But even after this PM never fails to amaze nation with his lunacy
